A proper pub - no gimmicks, just good beer and lovely atmosphere.
Perfect little pub with great beers and ciders, I can heartily recommend the Bee Sting honey cider, it’s absolutely delicious! The landlord and landlady are very welcoming and the decor is spot on if you’re after a proper country pub feel.
Great pub. The beer here is excellent. The staff and locals are friendly. Welcomes dogs and walkers.
The above review was from 5 years ago and I dropped in tonight. Electric and friendly atmosphere with world class beer and superb staff. All staff completely switched on and landlord obviously know how to run a good pub. I'll definitely be back and I'll highly recommend this pub to people that like quality beer in a top atmosphere.

Lovely pub with nice period features, which is in the good beer guide for this year. Quite small but very welcoming. 5 real ales on. Well worth a visit if in area
A great real ale pub, a pleasant and welcoming experience, highly recommended
It's rare to find a village pub where the landlady and local village clients are so friendly and welcoming. The Brickmakers Arms is renowned for it's ales, however as a Burton on Trent resident I feel ashamed to admit that we are not real ale drinkers. This was not a problem, we still received a very warm welcome.

How a village local pub should be.
We were on a 2 night stay in the village and popped in after an evening meal and was welcomed with a friendly and kind hello (probably a smile as well, hidden by the face mask :) ).
A fantastic choice of local beers and many whisky's or gin's, the owners were very attentive and knowledgeable to suggest what we wanted or were willing to try. We returned the following evening for the same great community feel, we really liked how they both made time to chat to there customers, by the end of the night we felt like one of the locals.
Wish we had them and the pub in our village, we will look to return again sometime.
