I went here for an early lunch with my daughter and three grandchildren whilst visiting the area, after failing to find an empty table at any of the other cafes in Newtown, and we were very pleased that we did.
The staff were really friendly and very helpful, (especially regarding meeting the various idiosyncratic needs of small children), and the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff even gave us containers to take away what the children didn't manage to eat (we were warned that they probably wouldn't manage all of the food we had ordered, in one go :-))
I would definitely recommend it, and will go there again the next time we are in Newtown and needing a lunch stop.

Wonderful. Stopped here for lunch on long journey back from South Wales. Stopping in Newtown probably a bad idea! But finding Duo's more than made up for it. Best Welsh Rarebit ever.
