Food was amazing..I had the dirty chips as a main meal...should have gone for the smaller size as the portion was massive...although on the plus side they gave me a take away box, so hubby and I had it for tea! Great food...great staff and a really nice atmosphere..will definitely be going back!
We were on a long journey from Devon to Essex and needed somewhere to stop for a quick bite to eat before hitting the road. When we stepped inside we saw a small bar area and didn't think we'd be able to get a table for all 10 of us. When the waitress took us through to our table we couldn't have been more suprised. What a stunning view. This is a gorgeous place to go for a meal and the food and service was great. I'd definitely recommend. It's just a shame we live too far away to come back anytime soon.
We went for a meal on a Tuesday evening in October, the pub (Inn) was nicely busy with a mix of locals and tourists. The atmosphere was lovely, very warm welcome from the lady serving behind the bar. The food was delicious, well prepared, especially the homemade pumpkin soup, and the Prawn linguine. The waitress was positive which made every interaction enjoyable. Another plus it was great value. I would say its would probably be worth booking as I think the Poltimore Inn would get busy at the weekends and high season.
WOW! What a place. We went there for a telescope course and found a fantastic pub! Food was great, waitresses were attentive and service was brilliant. Observatory is fabulous and we saw such a lot, lucky to catch a clear sky. Definitely will be back and recommend.
It was extremely busy when I visited here (the restaurant, bar & garden were full) and there were only 3 members of staff working but they were fantastic. I don't know how they managed to accommodate and serve so many customers so quickly.
Extremely efficient, professional and friendly.
I had the Chicken & Halloumi Salad and it was really tasty and a good-sized portion👌
Dog- friendly too 🙂
Pleasant pub situated in a typical small and picturesque Devon village just outside Exmoor. The interior is a little sterile but I guess that makes a change from the usual village pub chintz. I liked the restaurant with the views across the rolling countryside. Others in my party didn't. The food was decent and reasonably priced. It can get busy and the service does then slow down noticeably.
I stayed with friend's at The Poltimore Inn during the last bank holiday weekend in May whilst there for a friend's wedding festivities. Debbie and her staff did a fab job hosting us and many other's for the long weekend. The wedding reception was held at the hotel and it all went smoothly and really well. The room was lovely and spacious. All the facilities were really nice. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to North Devon / Exmoor National Park.
Just had a few nights away in North Devon and cannot rate the Poltimore Inn highly enough.
Friendly attentive staff and fabulous food and clean rooms with fantastic views.
The poached eggs were so good that I had them every morning!
This is a great pub/hotel. We’ve stayed here many times in the past the views from the rooms are great and the food that is served is always perfect. The staff can’t do enough for you.
We stayed in the lodges at the rear of the pub. They were lovely, quiet, clean & modern. Great pub, good food, nice bar & friendly staff. Very bike friendly as well.
Lovely pub with great staff and delicious food. Nicely appointed beer garden, perfect for a sunny evening!
Lovely food, good atmosphere. Dogs welcome in one area.
The waitresses were lovely. Unfortunately, there was a till issue and our lunch didn't go through to the kitchen so we had a wait. We weren't offered any discount or free drinks but they did apologize a number of time. These things happen.
Food was worth the wait (had the butternut squash crumble) hot and good size.
Would return and would recommend
