Truly remarkable establishment with a great owner and attentive staff. My fiancée and I stayed in one of the new Garden Spa rooms and the room did not disappoint at all. The jacuzzi outside was an amazing experience in itself, lovely temperature, easy to use, complete privacy as well. The sauna was also easy to use and enjoyable. The actual bedroom was clean and nicely decorated and the bed was so comfy, we could have laid in, all morning. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and the copper bath was the standout feature. Great accommodation - highly recommend. Also the 4 course a la carte dining was delicious and the afternoon tea when we arrived was again like everything else at this establishment - perfect. The place is spotlessly clean and we are definitely going to return.

Just had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel in one of their 4 poster bedrooms. Impressed from the moment we arrived. Greeted by Dale who showed us around the hotel and to our room. We had afternoon tea and the scones were very big so we would have liked a little more clotted cream and jam – minor whinge. We decided to have a walk into town (5 mins. away). Not a lot to see, it seems to be full of takeaways. Although the church is quite interesting in the centre of town. Upon arriving for our evening meal we were greeted by Hugh (the owner), who was very friendly and told us a little bit about the history of the Hotel and the connection with Agatha Christie. Our menu choices were taken in the bar by Rachel who was very professional at her job and very easy to talk to. Prior to going to the dining room we were served canapes in the bar. Upon being seated at our table and before the starter we were served a delicious amuse bouche. My choices were scallops, venison and brioche pudding. From the first mouthful to the last -absolutely delicious. Followed by coffee in the bar. We will be back!

We ate here whilst staying for a night. We had 3 courses and coffee afterwards. The salmon and prawn fishcake was lovely; goats cheese tart was excellent and different. My main course of Venison was OK, although I prefer a thicker cut as a personal choice. My wife's pan-fried lamb (which I had a taste of) was plentiful and delicious. Cheese desert was 4 very good choices, and the Chocolate Delice was just that. Service was friendly and attentive. The ambience of the dining room was good for us a couple but something was lacking although not sure what. All in all an excellent meal and highly recommend.

You will have to go a long way to find a hotel that offers the same standard and quality of service as the Beechwood. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment and very much look forward to staying again in 2020.

From the moment we got there the welcome was exceptional the room had a four poster bed which was so comfortable to sleep in. And the staff made us feel so welcome. The cuisine was fantastic and mouthwatering the catered for my wife's Gluten intolerance. We loved the art deco of the hotel. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking a luxurious place to stay.

Booked through Secret Escapes. Booking included afternoon tea with fizz. Room was beautiful. What their website doesnt tell you is that the hotel is fitted with Art Deco style. Agatha Christie was a very good friend of the doctors who own the building. We had canapes the pre starter of ventinue then our 3 course meal. Which was delicious. After we had petit fours and coffee at no extra charge. Breakfast was fab. Local produce very nice. My husband I will be back. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys nice surroundings. I forgot about the rooms ! Claw foot bath. Shower. Bed you just fell into and felt you were being cuddled. I dont sleep very well but did that night.

Tasting evening was fantastic as has been every visit. Nothing more to say really. Keep up the great work kitchen, bar and dining room staff.

A drink in the bar was accompanied by complimentary canapés. Service was exemplary. Lunch was well cooked, beautifully served and preceded by a complimentary amused bouche.

What a wonderful find! We planned the weekend trip to Norfolk to coincide with a Friday night football game in Norwich and a travelzoo deal to stay at the Beechwood Hotel in nearby north Walsham seemed too good to miss. From the moment we were greeted in the car park by the owner Hugh, to a brief tour of the hotel, followed by being shown to our fabulous four poster room and then the welcome afternoon tea with scones in the Art Deco styled lounge....we were hooked. A perfect night’s sleep and invigorating power shower (hard to choose between the walk-in shower and sumptuous free standing bath!) before a super cooked breakfast was a great start to the day. All the staff are so friendly and attentive and go out of their way to please. We couldn’t fault the delicious evening meal. Friends who live in Norwich came to join us and all four of us were delighted with the quality, choice and presentation of the food from the amouse bouche to the petit fours with coffee. The chef is superb and the memorable meal is one of the nicest I have tasted in a while. I type this review while sitting on the comfy sofa in our room and am so looking forward to our final night here and Sunday lunch tomorrow before we have to leave. I can honestly say that we will be planning another trip to Norfolk next year to stay in this wonderful hotel again and use it as a base to explore more of the lovely surrounding area. I cannot hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Great hotel and restaurant, I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Christmas meal already booked and excited for our visit. Afternoon teas enjoyed through the year and the food is always excellent. Staff always go the extra mile.

During my stay in North Walsham enjoyed an excellent working lunch in this stunning hotel. Our afternoon tea included a vegetarian selection for me and my colleague had the standard selection. Delicious especially the beetroot sandwiches and scones. Plenty of tea and very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

We visit the Beechwood at least once a year for a weekend, sometimes twice and have been staying for 5 years. All the staff are all excellent, from the owner and his wife to the cleaners and waiting staff. The rooms are very comfortable, they accept dogs in some rooms which is great for us. There is a great choice of drinks and a good wine list. The food is always first class using fresh local ingredients. We tried locally shot Partridge, Brancaster Mussels ( twice as they are so good), locally caught Hake and Halibut, but there is always other dishes if you are not into fish or game, a very good selection. We have booked to return twice next year and are looking forward to it already. We met three couples this weekend who said it was their first visit and all said it won't be the last. With a great breakfast choice as well, the Kipper was especially good as was the English Breakfast.

Wow! What a wonderful hotel. We were greeted by the manger in the car park as we arrived. That fantastic warm welcome continued for the weekend by all the staff. The hotel & room were spotlessly clean, the history of the hotel is very interesting - a must for Agatha Christy fans and the food is to die for. Talking to other guests who were staying for the 10th time, it is very clear that you may arrive as guests but you leave feeling like friends and repeat customers. We have stayed in a lot of hotels, but this is the only one that we plan to go back to. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work xx

My wife and I purchased a Travel Zoo voucher as we have a holiday home about 20 minutes away. The staff are absolutely so pleasant, polite, helpful and knowledgeable. From entering the hotel and to leaving was such a pleasant experience. There is a small bar which is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Pre dinner drinks in this very comfortable bar was enjoyable whilst choosing the meal from a very good menu. Our choices were excellent the mains of Pork Duo and Norfolk venison were superb. Coffee and petit fours were served in the bar in a very relaxing atmosphere. The whole evening was top drawer and we can’t wait to return. Heartedly recommended. Thank you to all the staff and chef for a wonderful evening. Hope to see you all very soon.

Excellent hotel and restaurant with outstanding staff. Well priced wine list and good selection from the a la carte menu. We will certainly return for another short break.

We ate in the restaurant all three nights we stayed at the hotel, all the staff were cheerful and made the effort, not something that comes with the territory in the UK normally. Lovely dining room crisp white linen and enough space between tables. The last two nights the food was excellent, fresh ingredients, cooked as asked, vegetarian options for those who need that as well. Carefully selected wine list with a South African slant, the SA wines were very good, but it does need a bit more variety and a few more by the glass, quite a few countries are not represented at all. But the reason I withheld an excellent rating was that the first night dinner was not as good, chefs night off ? it did appear that the dishes had been prepared earlier and the veg was tired as was the sea Bass and the difference to the other two nights was quite marked, nice pre dinner drinks and canapes in the Art Deco bar and mine host with some funny stories all in all very enjoyable and it is not nouvelle cuisine which is a boon.

Absolutely wonderful 3 day stay, couldn't fault it. We stayed as part of a group of 12. The hotel as are the rooms were spotlessly clean and the service was superb. As for the food, it was mouth-wateringly delicious. Nothing nineties about it as far as I'm concerned. We had a garden room with an amazing four poster bed and gorgeous bathroom with cup bath and shower too. I'd advise taking timeout to admire the gardens, they are blissfully quiet and beautiful. Just leaves me to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone envolved in making our stay a wonderful experience, highly recommend.

What can I say.. friendly staff and well presented building.. however the food was some what underwhelming.. I was hoping for more after the reviews I read in trip advisor. But unfortunately the food was stuck in the past.. the cooking and presentation were fine but uninspired. Felt like it was stuck in a time warp of the mid 90s. :(
