Stopped at the pub after a long walk and was not disappointed. friendly staff and reasonable prices. Luckily we booked a table as it was very busy, even late afternoon. Ordered the Trio of Roasts as couldn't decide on a meat. Well worth it! Beef, pork and chicken, crackling, stuffing wrapped in bacon, bread sauce with some veggies hidden in there and a few roast potatoes.
Chased this with a mini dessert (choc brownie) and a coffee. Wasn't as 'mini' as I thought it would be which was a nice surprise. Delicious.

Lovely atmosphere! Staff were fantastic but the wait for food was quite long - understandable on a busy Friday evening. Cocktails were very nice (recommend the mai tai). The food varied, calamari was lovely. The chicken burger was also great however the fries were standard. The desserts were average and I was particularly disappointed by the pavlova which was basically just a hollow meringue with a few berries around it.
Overall an enjoyable meal!
Had booked for two online on an easy to navigate website. On arrival (for lunch), was shown to our table that had been specifically requested for, by a window.
Shannon the server, was courteous, professional & friendly. The food was great, & would highly recommend the Hallumi fries for starters.
One trend that I encounter in most restaurants I visit, is that the service charge is only included for 6 or more customers. I find this a bit unfair, as the server, does a great job, be it for one or more customers. Service charge should be added & leave it for the customer to decide.
Most customers believe it's already added onto the bill. I make it a point to get it included.
Bill was £73.35 (excluding service charge), which was very reasonable.
Lovely pub with a dog friendly bar visted often, but this time we had meal in the restaurant for dinner. The Sunday roast was fantastic food served by friendly, helpful staff who surprised me with happy birthday on my dessert! Super place and highly recommend it.
Great quality food and relaxed atmosphere in a richly decorated space. The service has been great and the menus including the specials are a breath of fresh air compared to many chain gastro pubs. Although often busy, there's a good chance you can find a space for food and drink here. There's varied outdoor seating and some areas are pet-friendly.
Husband and I went for anniversary dinner... food was fabulous. Service was very friendly and prompt. Will definitely visit again. It's something special 😃
The staff in this pub were lovely, really attentive. The food was OK... nothing special, in my opinion (I had the chicken burger and chunky chips). I've had the same standard of food for MUCH lower prices. That being said, I would go again as a special treat (I mean, logistically, I wouldn't. But I'm ignoring the fact that I live 3 hours away...) as the atmosphere was good. All in all, it served us well for a relaxed 10-year university reunion meal.
Had a brilliant birthday here on Sunday. The menu seems much improved. Duo of steak roast dinner!! I had an email offering me 3 free courses for my birthday and didn't disappoint. Locally isn't my preferred Sunday Roast pub/restaurant but may be now! We had a great table and as always here, you need to book in advance, and atmosphere always busy, which is great. One of the best looking pubs and beer gardens in the area. I'm not sure if they have a new chef, but seemed much better than usual. As you'd expect from a popular place service was slow, but who was in a rush!! All 3 courses were great. Staff spot on. We do come here 5 to 10 times a year for lunch or dinner. If you can afford it can't go wrong.
This is by far my favourite haunt! And last nights meal was even better than the last. Shannon and Harry were amazing hosts for the evening. Even though the place was busy, our service was prompt and the food arrived in great time and was delicious. I also need to tell you that these two, Shannon and Harry, had me and my date in giggles all night. I felt we had dinner and entertainment which was an extra special touch. I had the lamb rump which was melt in the mouth good! My date had the fish and chips which he said was absolutely beautiful! Overall, I love this place and I highly recommend everyone checks it out!
Our waitress Ella was absolutely amazing. We went as a table of 9 people on a very busy Saturday night, yet Ella’s service made us feel like we were the only table she was serving, which definitely wasn’t the case!
The food was amazing and Ella helped us with the menu as one of group members has many food intolerances. Ella helped us put different foods together to create a meal which wasn’t on the menu. The chef was so accommodating!
