Mem Saab

We are visitors to Northampton and were taken here by our hosts. They live in Wellingborough and we have known them for years. We did come here about 3 years ago and the quality of the experience and the food is still absolutely excellent. The staff are attentive without it being overbearing, the food is varied and tasty but given its a buffet really fresh. Well done for keeping a good consistent standard with a smile.

My wife celebrated her birthday on a Sunday this year so I decided to try the Mem Saab restaurant in Northants. I still feel good after eating there!...The whole eating experience was worth every second. The whole place was beautifully humble and not trying to be something it wasn't but once I tried the food I realised it didn't have to...the strength of the place lies in its approach to food and the eating experience....relaxed, tasty dishes. One of Northamptonshires best kept secrets...a hidden Gem. Even with half a dozen starters and half a dozen mains on offer, nothing more was necessary...just a perfect lunch with my family. The Mem-Saab sits at the apex of Indian food. Everything was just right. Couldn't have found friendlier staff...really impressed and definitely returning to eat here. The live Jazz musician played throughout the time I spent there and even though I'm not a fan, it actually fitted nicely and added a tangible feel good factor with a definite element of 'It's Sunday lets relax'. My compliments to everyone working there collectively you made it amazing.

Too many Indian restaurants serve bland food where all the dishes taste the same. Here, things are different, with every dish being unique, and the meat quality is excellent - whether chicken or lamb. If I have a criticism, it's the slightly restrictive takeaway menu and the fact they don't open on Sundays. Overall, though, a superb place to eat in, and well above average for takeaways.

Great restaurant, fantastic decor, great food, owner pays attention to what you say and is interested in your comments. Only one niggle, floor staff dont really keep a eye on the back part of the restaurant which seems to be on no mans land, when i was there some clients including myself just couldn't get there attention, apart from that perfect, also the bar next door is a must, perfection all the way.
