The Outpost Cafe

Great to have a cafe right next to the park. I only grabbed a couple of cans of drink and used the toilet. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a little sparse inside, probably because I believe it has recently been taken over and is now called Illicit Cafe. Could do with some more pictures, plants and colour inside and a decent sign on the exterior. Very good overall. Will go back for sure.

The name of this business is Illicit Cafe, no longer The Outpost. Have only eaten here once, but will definitely return for the relaxed vibe, cool music, happy mixed-age skate and scoot clientelle, Park-located outside tables, and reasonably-priced short order yummy grub. We had the buttermilk chicken burger, thrice-cooked fries (so good) and a toasted panini. This was a 10 minute ish walk from our visiting at the hospital on a sunny day and i would recommend it over the chainstore outlets that might normally tempt time-starved hospital visitors. There's also a convenient car park. And they care about and know how to make a decent flat white coffee.

First time visit, been meaning to go for ages. Lovely, clean, place with a wide enough menu to suit most visitors. Seating outside in good weather and inside if the weather is poor. Outside is picnic benches, inside tables in a pleasant room with a well kept marine fish tank for added interest. Our server, Star, is very pleasant offering prompt and friendly service, with a chat too if she is not too busy. Just a short walk from our home, I'm sure we'll be back!

i visited this cafe on a sunday. and purchased 2 bacon and egg baps which i found to be cooked very well. i also had 2 cappuccinos which was also very nice. i was served by two very friendly and helpful lady members of staff, and went the extra mile even though it seemed extra busy . i was offered a loyalty card which took me by surprise as i wouldn't have expected for this type of establishment.would come back for sure when passing .
