The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. It is more than pub food; it's more like a good restaurant that serves traditional, and some less traditional, British fare. The ambiance is restful, clean and comfortable. We had a gathering of people there after my mother passed away, and the management and staff were wonderful. Thank you.

Fairly busy at 6pm on a Thursday. We had 2 specials off the board. Pork belly with veg and mash in heaps of gravy was delicious 10/10 and the Mac n cheese looked good and was told delicious too.
I and out in 45 mins perfect. Went home to sleep off the food coma.
Thanks Dog for some great cooking. Great friendly and welcoming staff.

We had a Sunday Roast here today with our 10 month old son and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Our son has a dairy allergy, which makes us nervous to take him out to eat so we usually end up bringing food with us. We had nothing to worry about here! Thank you for a lovely meal and for making our son so welcome.

We visited this evening for the first time in a few years and had a wonderful experience. We don’t often eat out as a family as our child has additional needs and finds it very stressful.
I emailed ahead of time to explain and to ask if it was ok to bring our own food for him. They were 100% accommodating to his needs and went above and beyond to ensure they were as inclusive as possible. They took the extra effort to try help him be as comfortable as possible.
On top of the great service, the food was excellent and service was very quick!

Very warm welcome, attentive friendly service throughout our visit. We even had the offer of taking my 3 pointer dogs out to the garden which was incredibly thoughtful. Food was exception, very tasty, beautifully presented . A pity for us we were only visiting the area as this would be the perfect local. Well done to the whole team.

We popped in for an impromptu lunch with our toddler yesterday and were so wonderfully welcomed! Service was perfect, food was great. The manager is a fantastic host and all the other service team were so friendly and helpful. We’ve visited a few times before and will certainly be coming back.

It is so rare to go somewhere that not only serves good food but also understands different dietary requirements and caters for them without making you feel like a nuisance. I was able to choose from a wide choice, and was even able to enjoy a dessert, which doesn't happened often when eating out due to limited choices.
I am both gluten and dairy intolerant and will certainly be returning to The Norton Dog in future and I am looking forward to trying the roast dinners. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, thank you all for a fabulous dinning experience.

Four of us met for Sunday lunch after friends recommendations.
Two travelled from Martlesham and two from Norwich.
We opted for two roast lamb,one roast chicken and one roast pork.
One cheesecake and two fruit crumbles.
What treat ! Well run great atmosphere and really tasty food served piping hot.
ALL freshly cooked and great choice.
Table layouts and the pub itself all very good
From start to finish all was a very enjoyable experience
We will be returning soon.

Honestly have had the warmest welcome and the nicest roast dinner at this lovely pub in Bury st Edmunds.
After getting stuck in awful traffic jams the manager took personal care of my parents and my dad who has dementia.
They also took the best care of my son who felt unsure about his roast dinner (he's anaphylactic to milk) the manager didn't hesitate in deciding to replace it with an alternative.
