This weekend I was in the lovely city of Norwich visiting family, and on Sunday we went into the city center for a wander and some lunch. After talking to my manager at work about my planned weekend in Norwich with family, she told me about a magical Waffle House that I should visit… And boy did it not disappoint!
I was completely overwhelmed with the menu choices, but two that really caught my eye included Indian inspired waffle “Potato, Cauliflower, Spinach & Puy Lentil Dhal” and “Authentic Greek Salad” (which my sister ended up getting). however after much deliberation I chose the hummus and avocado waffle, with a garlic butter, cheese and rosemary “side” dish.
01.10.2023 Been many times before. Always great. Lots of sweet or savoury options.
Daughter was given colouring pencils and sheet to keep her busy.
Toilets are out and in the next door upstairs. More spacious seating upstairs. Also good view of the street.
Old building, narrow and low doorways, lots of stairs.
Expensive street parking outside or St Giles car park is a few feet away.
Such a cute place to get brunch with friends, family, or on a date. The menu has a mixture of sweet and savoury waffles to suit everyone's taste. The staff are all friendly and attentive whether it's busy or quiet - one time in particular they were empty at an odd hour of the day and were still welcoming, friendly, and attentive to myself and my partner. The banoffee waffle is my personal favourite as most places don't serve anything banoffee these days.
Delicious waffles and really good value for money. We went with our 18 month old and everyone was very accommodating. The kids meals are also very good value for money and he really enjoyed it. It’s very busy and when we left there was a queue outside, but I’m not surprised as food was delicious. Plenty of options for vegetarians and plenty of both sweet and savoury options. Will be back again!

We’ve been going to the Waffle House for the past 20 years, and we’re drawn in by the smell of the waffles coming out of the vent of the building! (Honest!)
It’s been around since the late 70’s, and there is a very good reason.
It’s superb. The staff, the food, the vibe, the coffee, etc. It really is a place to visit at least once.
The menu is now seasonal and has both veggie and vegan options in both sweet and savoury options.
There is a wide range of drinks, and the coffee is really good too.
We visited on a Friday lunchtime and were seated very swiftly by the window, meaning we can do some good people watching whilst our food is prepared.
The staff are really friendly, smiley and know the menu and ingredients. If you want a recommendation or have a question, they’ll be able to help.
Food is fresh, seasonal and tasty. I’d recommend the Belgian chocolate and honeycomb. It’s proper naughty!!!
Lovely waffles, well cooked. Good service. Restaurant clean and tidy. Busy, we had to wait for a free table but worth the wait. Decent coffee.
Toilets upstairs clean.
Food is amazing, waffles are light and fluffy, both wholemeal and plain waffles. Had bang chicken and banoffee. Staff are friendly and not shy, however did take a little longer to clear tables than I thought but not major. Was popular for a Monday lunch so expect some occupied tables. Overall a great experience.
GREAT food!!
I had a savoury waffle because the sweet waffles honestly did look underwhelming but I didn’t try one so I can’t say for certain.
The sweet potato waffle was insane! I loved it so much! There was so much toppings as well including: corn ribs, halloumi , chilli jam, guacamole and crispy onions. It was jam packed with flavour and salty goodness.
10/10.
The Waffle House is located at 39 St Giles St, Norwich NR2 1JN. This restaurant offers varous option of waffle in different tastes, including chutney, crunchy, chili, tamari, cheddar cheese sauce and the traditional sweet. A kind of mixture of contrasting tastes. After trying the options, traditional sweet waffle is the best. A long queue of customers is always found in front of the shop. No booking is necessary.
My friends and I came here for brunch and had very good savory waffles. I never could do much with savory waffles before, but this restaurant won me over. The service was super nice and the ambiance was also very pleasant.
Waffles are always the place to go in Norwich.
Tasty tasty tasty I cant say more than that. Have to try it out yourself 😋🤤🤤🤤
