We stayed at Sugarbeat Eating House the night of 5th August 2017, and although we didn't get there until about 9.40pm and the kitchen was closing we were still offered some food if we were hungry which we were not as we had just eaten. A member of staff (I can't remember his name) showed us to our room and as my wife has mobility problems he helped me get our bags etc from the car. We had a good nights sleep in the lovely Jackson room and a lovely breakfast in the morning served by very pleasant staff. We were very happy with the service and friendliness of all the staff, would recommend but traffic can be very noisy if you are a light sleeper.
Must admit reading the menu, I thought it was a standard pub menu. But wow the food was amazing, all 4 of us were impressed. Staff were all really friendly and attentive. Will be back.
What a surprisingly wonderful place to stay! This small hotel has quite an eccentric style and focuses on a relationship with music in the decor and feel. Room included an enormous bed and was equipped with everything you might need. The bar and restaurant area is clean and comfortable, and the food and service was superb, special compliments to the chef, dinner was excellent and breakfast was almost too large to eat. Almost. Very friendly staff, great pricing...in fact, I don't think I've stayed at a better hotel. Great work guys! Also, a ten minute drive from Norwich University campus, ideal if you're going to a gig...
Excellent evening meal. The salmon was cooked to perfection, served quickly and piping hot. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The desert..malteser cheesecake was delicious, always get 2 spoons as the portion was very generous. Really recommend this establishment.
We're local and went there for lunch today. Really good food. Great staff. Coffee not very good quality but fairly typical for the UK. It tasted like instant.
Very clean, tidy and a pleasant place to be. Thought obviously gone into the great garden area with sunny, shaded and undercover tables. Near the A140 but surprisingly peaceful.
Me and my wife are local to this restaurant and have been a few times now, Kieron is always really positive, polite and professional upon visiting… the reason we have come back so often is due to his customer service as well as ofcourse the food… if the owner / manager reads this please reward him for his perfect customer service.
Great food, great service, great vibes.
Family meal, booked a table for 9 for Saturday lunchtime and was seated accordingly on a comfortable sized table. Skipped Starters but as I liked the sound of the pork teriyaki (delicious) I asked if it could be done as a main sized portion and chef did for me no problem. All our food was very tasty and very well priced, we skipped starters and had desserts and drinks worked out about 27 per head. Very friendly and efficient service and recommend a visit here👍.
Came here with my partner and family for my Mum’s birthday. We was greeted with a nice warm welcome and shown to our table. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We went for x2 Pork Belly x2 Beef roast dinners and sweet chilli crispy chicken. Great value for money, would 100% come back again! They also kindly gave my Mum a free glass of Prosecco due to it being her birthday, which was very kind of the staff ☺️ Would definitely recommend!
Popped in for lunch - friendly staff and good food. I felt the menu could be a bit more exciting, but that's a personal thing. Went for the steak frites with peppercorn sauce (enough sauce to share) which was well cooked and ideal for the lighter appetite.
Wow totally recommend this place.
This was a birthday weekend away in Norwich with my wife. After spending the afternoon at the theatre, it was a short drive to our room for the night.
On arrival we were welcomed and personally shown to our room.
The room was really nice, massive comfy bed, in room fridge with fresh milk. Bathroom was nice, shower had a large overhead head with the option of a smaller one. Even had aircon in the room.
Dinner here was amazing, the portion size was unexpected, I had the maple pork loin and chips. What I got for the price I paid was outstanding.
Breakfast was just as good, I went for the big breakfast. Again amazing food, well presented.
This is a little gem on the A140, you have to visit and see for yourself.
Food here is fantastic, i stayed for one night, room was very clean but with very low ceilings, but no problem for 1 night. The food however is the best I've had, haddock and proper chips,
The breakfast was easily the best I've had, all cooked to perfection, service too was great, I'd definitely stay again if in the area.
Excellent staff, great food lovely atmosphere.
we turned up without booking, and were informed that if we wanted full meals there may be a wait, but only wanted "pub snacks" these we nice, tasty and came out pretty quick (big group of 11).
