We loved all our dishes, and the service was really good. I think I had probably one of the best desserts ever. Their dulce-de-leche Tirami-Shoux was an excellent creation, which added a bit of texture and crunch to the classic tiramisu, and the flavours were just brilliantly working together to make this a really good experience. The carbonara was a truly great variation of the kind, but tasting my partners dish with the squid ink pasta revealed that the flavour combinations worked really well on that one also, and I found myself leaning towards that flavour profile. Next time (^^,)
We ate here after reading Grace Dent's review.
Incredible food and Benoli is a special place, the service is always wonderful but £32 for a main is high.
We've been twice now and maybe we didn't order well but each time we've felt some of the dishes tasted very similar, we ordered three starters and two mains.
Benoli is defo one to visit, the food's too good not to try but I'm not sure if we'll go back again, unless the menu changes.
What a great restaurant! The food was excellent, fresh pasta made daily, really tasty sauces. They do a nice twist on carbonara, little agnolotti filled with a beautiful sauce and little pieces of pancetta as garnish.
Service is very good, the staff are happy to talk you through the menu and answer any questions you have.
I'd definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely delicious! The service was a bit slow to get mains, but they came and apologised for the delay, and they're released and friendly staff.
Food wise, everything was spot on, the handmade pastas were full of flavour, the choux pastry in the dessert was crispy and fresh.
Impeccable dishes, excellent table service, incredible food. I have been coming to this restaurant every year and the food never disappoints. It’s probably one of my favourite restaurants. The pancetta carbonara is delicious!
Absolutely amazing meal here. The carbonara is incredible, I've never had one like it. the restaurant has a lovely and relaxing ambience. There was two very big tables in the restaurant this night, however standards in terms of food and service didn't slip. Only thing is there was a fairly long wait on our initial drinks and it was very hot in the restaurant. If you go you have to get the parmesan croquettes, they are next level.
Very nice food, delicious. Amazing service. Food came out very quickly. 10~ minitue wait for both courses. Only complaint is i wish there was pictures for food / more descriptions for them.
Dinner
An amazing Italian restaurant.
Wow,Wow and double Wow.
Benoli, a modern, three-floored Italian restaurant, hidden up an alley in the city centre of Norwich.
Run by brothers Ben & Oliver.
Hence, the name.
Chef Oliver – a MasterChef: The Professionals finalist who has worked for Gordon Ramsay and was head chef at Roux at the Landau in London.
When looking for somewhere to eat in Norwich, you are spoilt for choice.
You would have to stay at least a week to try them.
But we just had to go here.
As it was a Saturday night, we could only get a table reservation for 5.30pm.
Which suited us, as we'd skipped breakfast and lunch.
Thank goodness we did.
It's not a large menu, and it's a good job as we were overwelmed by what was on offer.
So much so that we practically ordered most of the menu.
You can't come here without having the
24-month parmesan croquettes.
Cobble Lane coppa ham & focaccia
Antipasti
Burrata, bbq'd beetroot, blood orange, pistachio & wildflower honey focaccia
Hake kiev, nduja butter, whipped baccala and coppa ham.
*This was outstanding*.
Beef carpaccio Harry's Bar dressing, parmesan, garlic & bone marrow potato bread
Side of
San Marzano tomato salad, cucumber & seaweed dressing
Pasta
24-month parmesan bottone, courgette, chilli, lemon & basil
Pea & ricotta scarpinocc. fresh peas, oregano & pistachio
Dessert
Chocolate & dulce de leche tiramisu, mascarpone ice cream
We weren't going to have dessert as we were completely stuffed, but how can you not?
If you only have time for one place to visit in Norwich, then it's got to be here.
It's probably the greatest Italian restaurant in the UK, and not a pizza in sight.
Wouldn't be surprised if they got a Bib Gourmand soon.
Lovely interior and environment to dine in. The beef carpaccio was to die for and the pasta dishes, in particular the spiced brown crab tagliolini and the ricotta cavatelli were stars of the show. Service was very friendly and attentive. I’d go as far as saying that this is probably the best Italian restaurant in Norwich!
Top place serving the most delicious food I've had for ages.
Snacks and small plates are good value.
The pasta dishes are fresh and so flavoursome.
Would highly recommend a visit here.
