A great little find for some dirty burgers!
Smallish venue serving burgers, hot dogs and other dirty treats. Great atmosphere and staff that couldn’t do more to help if they tried
Food was delicious and good value, cooked fresh to order
Would recommend a visit if this is your sort of thing
Such a great experience from start to finish! It was our first time here, and definitely won’t be our last! The food was absolutely delicious, and generous portions too!
The service was impeccable, very attentive, friendly, polite and never kept us waiting!
The server made an error with our order but it was promptly corrected and they went above and beyond to make sure it was put right. Outstanding service from both waitresses!
We will definitely be coming back soon!
One of the best burgers in Norwich!
Trip into Norwich and had to go back to Captain A's. Last came in 2019 but we have been before that. This time didn't disappoint. Service was really good, food great (very filling BLT) and milkshake was brilliant. Yes,decor has changed but still holds some original charm. Will be back!
Been here a few times in the past and always great. This experience was a little different but this is a constructive review not a moan.
Had chicken burger meal and kids chicken strips for my child. Both tasty! I had a strawberry shake which was amazing, so much that I ordered another almost straight away.
Improvements? (Easy wins in my mind)
Chips - were floppy, didn’t feel like they were cooked long.. certainly not “fries”
Music - modern rap didn’t fit well with the 1950’s theme and wasn’t very family welcoming.. suggest revisiting the playlist
Drinks menu! Add those famous shakes to a
Menu somewhere.. I didn’t spot the drinks menu and was only presented with coke/sprite etc as options until I asked about shakes!
Great service, the young lady there was very polite and friendly and the burgers / chicken were awesome!
Will visit again! Hope these suggestions help!
Came here for dinner with my partner and it was exactly what we needed after a long day of shopping and site seeing. Our server Sophia was lovely and couldn't ask for a better host. Super friendly and knew the menu inside and out when I had questions. For starters I had the BBQ wings and my partner had the blooming onion, both were done perfectly. For mains I had the Captain America cheeseburger and my partner had the dirty rooster chicken burger with cheese. Both were amazing and really put you in a good place, full but not bloated. The quality was excellent and you could tell that everything was made fresh - the fries were especially good in my opinion. All of this was reasonably priced considering we had the above and two drinks each and a side as well. Would highly recommend visiting and whilst a lot of other reviews on here complain about it "not being what it used to be" etc. I think with a few more memorabilia items on the walls and the music a little louder it's a great place to spend the evening. We will definitely be coming back to visit in the future.
Have been going here since the 70s. It has changed hands a couple of times and has recently had a refurb but still great burgers and cocktails
Food was very nice, very filling. Maple milkshake was extremely nice. Decor was traditionally America, was expecting more captain America comic themes. Our waitress was quiet and didn't appear all that cheerful but fulfilled all requests fine. We were the only ones in the restaurant which was at 5.30 on a Thursday. Music in restaurant didn't a fit the theme but again, very minor issue. Overall food and environment was pleasant.
An excellent meal out! The buffalo wings were incredible. The staff were super friendly and the place itself was really cool.
Delicious American style menu, didn't disappoint. Waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Nice little American themed restaurant. Been in Norwich for decades and still popular. Rather cheap and good portions and excellent milk shakes!
