Sunday lunch adult family. Excellent had roast beef and pork, all really good, tried the extra veg which was also excellent. Great wine - recommended. Shared puddings mains generous, again very good frangipani tart with clotted cream and homemade truffles!! We will be back.
Nice pub proper old school, staff very courteous and friendly, nice ales, beer garden is huge good location as well
Very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here. Simplistic dishes with an excellent understanding of flavour from the Chef. This has jumped straight to the top of my local eateries for date night. Beer/wine & service were also very good. £80 for snacks, starter, mains & drinks
They’ve recently reopened under new management, the drinks menu was really wide and varied as well as being well priced. The beer garden was absolutely fantastic - loads of tables but well spaced with some chill music playing. The service was also great. Could do with a couple more vegetarian options on the menu.
Excellent venue. Lots of outdoor space. Great variety of food too. Was with a large group who tried pretty much everything between them and nobody had a bad word to say.
Wonderful experience eating & drinking at the York. Best Bloody Marys in town. Exceptional food and atmosphere and a seasonal menu with high end & local ingredients which will delight foodies in the area. Not to be missed if visiting Norwich. Incredible value for the quality and variety of dishes on offer
Wonderful pub. Friendly with a warm welcome. Food is fantastic, the staff (Lauren) who served me and my family so friendly and helpful. Andrew ( owner) making fabulous cocktails! Please visit this pub, it will become your local.
Convenient at the moment given the large and spacious garden at the rear, which was once a bowling green. Service was friendly and the pub was clean and organised. Beer range was reasonable, although a little limited on real ales. We were a bit late for food, but the menu looked good with topped fries, burgers and pub meals. It's best to book a table at the moment to ensure a spot.
Best pub in the Golden Triangle.
Great food, & atmosphere. New owners have breathed life back into the heart of Norwich .
Highly recommend.
Wow! This is not just pub food... this is top quality gastro-pub food. We had a peep at the menu on Sunday & decided to try dinner on Tuesday evening (food was served 6-9pm). The pub was warm & buzzy, with nearly all tables occupied (so I'd recommend booking). We were served by Lauren who did well running the unexpectedly busy restaurant and bar on her own, always smiley & helpful. The menu is one page of pure class. Carefully considered combinations, plenty of local produce (meats, seafood, cheese etc). We had starters (top pick: mussels! best mussels in Norwich!) and mains (both the burger & seabass were flawless). All the desserts looked tasty so next time we must leave space for pud. Can't wait to return to try the other dishes. Congratulations to the new manager, the chef and all the team, and thank you for transforming this local pub. Brace yourselves, looks like you're going to have a very busy Christmas...!
