I genuinely would not have given this place the time of day, but I went on a whim tonight with my mate and it was brilliant. Service was a bit haphazard, but I let them know and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Amazing food, well presented, nice atmosphere. Give it a try. They deserve it. Will come again.
First time we've visited as we wanted something different to what we usually have on a night out. We had a selection of dips and bread to start which I have to say were amazing. Beautiful flavours and plenty of it. A bit disappointed it wasn't flatbread though and definitely needed more bread per person. We had a stew which came with rice and again mine was fabulous. Very tasty and filling. The mixed grill one of the group had however was poor value. Nothing really special and way overpriced for what she got. Chips were extra too. The rice made the dish too dry. Nothing on a grill to soak into rice. Baklava for dessert was wonderful though. Perfect mix of crispy pastry and soft pistachio filling. I also felt the staff could be a bit friendlier. None of the waiting staff cracked a smile and looked as miserable as sin. Made the atmosphere a bit sinister and our waitress practically snatched her tip out of our hands. Only the guy on the desk was cheerful. So to summarise, some food outstanding, some poor value and the staff really need to cheer up.
Excellent meal - a very different type of cuisine which you won't find anywhere else in Nottingham - wonderful mix of flavours. Staff were very attentive even though it was busy. Good price as well. My only issue is the amount of saffron in a lot of the dishes - there was so much in my main that I could barely eat it. Don't go if you don't like saffron!
I went to Pistachio on a Monday night a couple of weeks ago for my birthday and it was a lovely evening - the halloumi starter was utterly delicious and, though I wasn't too fond of my main, it was definitely just my personal preference to do with flavouring, rather than anything being wrong with the dish itself! I had the baklava for dessert, which was incredible. Importantly, the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout, and even gave me an extra bit of baklava because I wasn't a fan of my main, even though this was in no way their fault!
Went for the first time and had a great time with amazing food. The staff where great with explaining what everything was and providing recommendation. We opted for more a tapas type meal with 4 dips with bread followed by a selection of starters and sides so they moved us to a bigger table to accommodate our selection. It was amazing so many flavours and textures, everything was stunning but the warm cheese dip and halloumi where truly outstanding. Will certainly be going back
First visit to this wonderful restaurant. Went with my sister we decided to try 4 dips and bread to start with, they were amazing so full of flavour and complimentary to each other, we then decided to have a selection of starters and sides as our main (sort of tapas sharing style)once again it was excellent food that has made us excited to visit this restaurant again soon. The watermelon cocktail was to die for and the staff were very friendly and welcoming
Fantastic food and service... Would recommend any of the dips and the stews. They really looked after us. Definitely ask for recommendations. Will return...
This was our second visit and we enjoyed another wonderful meal - the place was buzzing, the dips were stunning again and I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled Halloumi platter! We'll be back to try more of the wide choice of vegetarian & vegan on offer. Thanks!
I enjoyed my meal here the food is of a good standard and I would recommend. Good points. Nicely cooked meat not over done Decent house wine Good service Other points. Loud 80s power ballads playing for the duration of my meal, as soon as other diners came in the music switched to a more authentic middle Eastern sound track (have this on all the time as it ads to the experience) I found the cherry meatballs a tad too sweet for my palet. Venue decor lacks atmosphere I would return as the food was nice

Amazing. Near city center but tucked out of the way. We were the first customers there and had the place to ourselves most of the meal, and had cheerful and attentive service. The dips were sensational (aubergine and walnut, pistachio/feta/yogurt, and more) - we made a whole meal of those plus a couple other apps, and of course, dessert. The kind of meal that makes you want to tell everyone you know and make them jealous they didn’t get to eat with you.
Loved my evening out. Great food and couldnt do more to make sure the cusine was Vegan. Place had a great relaxed feeling suitable for dining. Would recommend.
We'd not eaten Persian before so it was a new experience for us , but this a really great restaurant with superbly prepared dishes and great attentive service. It's not posh, but it environment is clean, smart and stylish with open kitchen etc.. but the food was top notch !
Found this just on a Google search - what a discovery. The family and staff are friendly and fun and the food is simply amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Being half Iranian and my Iranian Farther being there - food was amazing! catered to allergies really well - modern twist on traditional dishes. Excited to visit there new restaurant soon - with a wider menu including vegan desert!

Lovely food and great service. We had a family reunion here and they catered for both the vegetarians and vegans perfectly. I look forward to another visit.
We happened upon Pistachio whilst visiting for a concert. We certainly weren't disappointed! From the warm welcome to samples of the sauces before we made our choices, everything was great, a slight mix up in the order didn't cause any major problems and was dealt with efficiently without fuss. The dips were to die for and the mains well cooked and very tasty. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend - only downside - it's a 2 hour drive, otherwise this would be a regular haunt!

We enjoyed the food here at pistachio. We opted for the dips to start with fresh delicious bread and for the mains my partner had tangy stew and I had the halloumi. My partner enjoyed the starter but didn’t like the main thought it was a bit too much but he would try something different in the future. The halloumi was enjoyable but the sauce was extremely sweet so had to use the rice to neutralise it a little. Portions good sizes though. Only issues - felt like staff were staring the entire time we were eating which was a bit uncomfortable and couldn’t relax, toilet I felt was a little grotty also
