What can I say. The best restaurant in Sherwood. As an Englishman brought up to think that macaroni cheese with a bit of mustard in it was the height of sophistication my culinary education didn't begin until I met my future wife whose father was brought up in Eastern Europe. Ania captures the very best of Polish dishes and EVERYTHING on the menu is delicious as far as I'm concerned. The portions are good, the service is excellent and Ania is great...I love her medicine! We don't go enough...everytime we go I say we should come more often.

Arrived at 7.0 on a Wednesday evening, 30 October. Not sure what to expect, seemed a little quiet , 15 minutes later venue full. Unfortunately i am unable to describe our food well enough to do it justice,(memo to self retain copy of menu next time), sufficient to say every plate was cleared of every morsel, a veritable myriad of flavours, every dish had us wanting more. An unexpected bonus was listening to one lady member of our group conversing in fluent polish with the owner which was almost musical to my ears . We shall return as soon as possible.

Today our group" Estonians in and around Nottingham" had our Christmas celebration at Ania's. This is not our group's first visit but as usual the experience was great with Ania's warm and welcoming atmosphere and lovely food. Polish food is quite authentic for Estonians and we had arranged a fixed menu of meatballs or pierogi for ease of organisation for such a large group. Ania was, as always, very accommodating and even kindly agreed to add some black pudding as a traditional Christmas extra just for us on this special occasion. Thank you to Ania for your extra special efforts today to help us, Nottingham Estonians and friends of ours celebrate Christmas :)

Having seen the excellent reviews over the past few years, we were really looking forward to our meal at Ania's. I am pleased to say that it was as good as we hoped - the service, food and value were all excellent. As we went on a Tuesday night, I probably should have steered clear of the cherry vodka though - but it was too nice to resist!

Had my 60th birthday meal here with family and friends (some from Canada) who had never tasted polish food before and everyone said that it was excellent both food and service was 5 star. I`m sure there are a new group of converts to Ania`s

This is a fantastic restaurant. I booked for myself and two friends and we had a lovely evening. The food is absolutely delicious, with a really good choice on the menu. Bread and butter is bought to the table for you to nibble on whilst waiting for your meal and although we only had soft drinks they were half the price we normally pay when we dine out. Our main course was out of this world and in addition to it they also bought us some beetroot salad and a coleslaw salad. Unlike other restaurants the bread and butter and salads were included in the price. Two of us had desserts which were very nice and again extremely good value. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the decor in the restaurant is very nice. When our bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were only charged for 2 main meals as on tues, wed, thurs there is a 3 for 2 offer on main meals. I cannot praise or recommend this restaurant enough and we will certainly be visiting again.

I have been to Ania three times, and each was exceptional. I chose the restaurant for the coziness, outstanding food and services. The selection of wines is also very nice. You won't regret booking a table there (necessary if you want to be seated!).

We visited Ania’s To celebrate a family birthday. As it was a busy evening, we were a little late getting served but that made us extra hungry. There were 12 of us so don’t know what everyone ordered but my husband and I ordered the same. We had garlic bread - 2 big slices each - followed by the fried chicken breast with chips & salad. The plates were overflowing & the chicken was so tender. I couldn’t resist ordering a piece of cheesecake, melted in the mouth, superb! Everyone loved the food, we visit now & again & will certainly be back, thank you, Ania & staff x

Four of us dined here on a Thursday night. It was packed and you need to book in advance. There is traditional Polish food and a varied menu. Great service, good food and excellent value. Big portions so make sure you are hungry when you go!

Came Tuesday night. Good homemade grub just like grandma used to make. Very good value for money. 241 on all main courses Tuesday to Thursday

Delicious food and the loveliest service my partner and I have ever come across. Hearty home made generous sized portions of fish, chicken, potatoes and salad. A wholesome experience indeed, I'm hoping they've added some more vegetarian options to the menu and possibly vegan? As we will back.

A wonderful restaurant, good service and great home cooked Polish food. The baked cheesecake was huge and very delicious. The mains came with fresh salads which was a nice touch. I'd definitely go there again.

There was nothing wrong with Ania, but just not quite my cup of tea. The food I sampled was simplistic, home cooked style, which although highly rated by others and my companions, didn't quite seem value for money (£13.95 for meat and a small amount of veg) - but that is MY opinion of the food I ordered. Hadn't had Tyskie lager for years, and now I remember why!! Ania herself was friendly after a fairly cold reception, and became warmer as the evening went on. We went on a recommendation, but honestly I wouldn't go back anytime soon. Each to their own eh?

Been here three times in six months. I break my journey in Nottingham on the way to Southsea from Northumberland. Being ancient I can spend loads of time looking for treats. Whilst not Polish I have eaten the food for nearly sixty years. If it is good I eat it, food is good, ladies who serve you are very pleasant. Some dishes take a while but if you want fast plastic food go to a vending machine. GREAT value for money. Ask advice before you choose your dishes. Looks simple but it is not. So pleased we found this restaurant as our Polish closed. Next Polish we have will be in York but are planning a visit to Nottingham just to have a meal here. One word of warning the portions are huge.

Great food, service okay but the food does take a while for it to arrive once ordered. I believe there is only one person in the kitchen doing starters, mains and desserts.
