A really nice meal which we both enjoyed. Having over indulged over the Christmas period we fancied yet another lunch and were very pleasantly surprised by our meal at The Larder. I had the salmon as my starter and it was a perfect light introduction to my meal. My partner had the aubergine which he enjoyed. I couldn't decide between the duck and the lamb for my main. Thankfully my partner had the duck so I could have the lamb and get a taste of what I had missed. Both were equally tasty and we both enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant cosy with interesting links to local history, Boots the chemist. Would definitely recommend.

Went on a Friday evening without booking but luckily got a table! Food was really good although a little pricy but it did worth the price! Can also go with the fixed price menu which is really good value! Passion fruit cheese cake was so delicious! Definitely recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere and lovely staff. The food was delicious and served beautifully. Mentioned in the Michelin Guide 2017 for a reason! Just make sure you book in advance.

Very good food. The braised beef was very tender. Risotto very juicy.
The staff was friendly & welcoming.
A must try if your in Nottingham.

A fabulous little independent restaurant that has a relaxed atmosphere in a formal, fine dining setting without feeling too fancy or overly haute cuisine.
The focus is on the taste of the food, which has always been exceptional. Often local produce with high quality ingredients.
The staff have always been a pleasure alongside.
Thoroughly deserving of a Michelin ‘Bib Gourmand’ for great value tasty dining.

I really loved this place. It exists in the building where the first boots (the pharmacist) was opened which I really liked. The food was also amazing. I had the beetroot cheesecake as a starter, the gnocchi as a main and the chocolate mousse for dessert. I especially liked the gnocchi, I thought they were incredible, very fluffy and tasty.

Lovely seasonal menu that isn't overbearing with too much choice. Food is delicious and well presented. Its a bit of a hidden gem, tasteful decor in a wonderful historic building. Good value for money for a meal of that quality, one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham.

An excellent evening for a rather decadent dinner! Lots of delicious food in fairly generous portions, and some good vegetarian options if you're that way inclined. 9/10 would recommend, great for the price if you're willing to part with the cash.

Another superb meal in a lovely building. The quality and flavour of the food are perfect and the steak is a definite favourite of mine. Thank you so much Rachel and team and we hope to see you again very soon.

Excellent food & service. Was made to feel welcome from going in to going out. All 8 at the table remarked how good it was. As i personally don't drink alcohol i would have liked a non alcoholic lager or beer to have, with the excellent food.

This a great restaurant for many reasons; British contemporary food that attempts to make things new but also not over developed. a great space in a historic part of town and friendly staff. If there's anything wrong I would say it is some of the chairs/tables. You simply cannot eat comfortably when the table is so high your chin is 20 cm from it. This isn't a problem that all tables have as it a mixed set of different styles, great fro quirkiness, terrible for practicality.

We had a family meal for my husband's 70th. We were a party of 11, 5 of which were children. They did not have a children's menu but were happy to cater fir what they liked. The service was very good and we will diffinately think about using them again.

Excellent, this is my new favourite restaurant, my daughter bought my wife and I a voucher after it was recommended to her, i had mackerel, followed by lamb and chocolate delice, my wife had squid (the best we'd both ever had,) I can't remember what else she had cos' i was enjoying mine so much.
I have had better individual dishes, i found that across the three courses , the larder is consistently excellent, all three courses were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious for both my wife and I.
Excellent food, great service and a cosy atmosphere (no hoity toityness to make you feel uncomfortable).
I look forward to going again, and have no qualms about recommending the larder to any foodie.

Dissapointed. After reading reviews I had very high expectations for my planned visit to The Larder. The dining area is stunning, sadly not so the food. <br/> I was very dissapointed with my experience! I went for afternoon tea with a Hen party of 24 ladies. The Larder might be fine with couples and very small parties, however, they don't seem able to cope with large parties. The quality of the food was not representative of the higher than usual cost I normally pay for afternoon tea. Sandwich fillings were basic and the tea was watery. The service was quite poor, with all of us having to repeatedly ask the waitresses for replenishment of various things like jam and cream for the scones, water for the teapots and milk to mention a few! I will be taking afternoon tea elsewhere in future.

'The Larder on Goosgate' is nestled in Hockley, in a building that true to the occasion is a historical talking point of Nottingham. I had visited once before for afternoon tea and it definitely didn't fail to disappoint. The team at the Larder couldn't have been more accommodating to my wheat intolerance and went to great lengths to ensure that my scones, sandwiches and pastries were kept away from those of my friends

The Larder on Goosegate has no ordinary setting, it was home to the very first Boots, now pharmaceutical giant, then advertising under the slogan ‘Health for a Shilling’. The inside is sympathetic to it’s turn of the century interiors...The menu focusses on British favourites, you can choose from either an A la carte or set lunch menu, with a bit of bread and butter to keep you company while you decide.... His soup is a revelation in creamy onion flavours and a firm contender to the more famous French Onion soup!
