This is a hidden gem 💎. Good food at very reasonable prices. Lovely characterful building with a lovely atmosphere. It won't be to everyone's taste but we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, thank you.

We recently chanced a visit as walk-ins for lunch having passed the front doors many times. A hidden gem. We were kindly greeted and showed to the dining room, our waiter was friendly yet professional and properly trained (served from left etc). Ambience wasn't pretenious and you could have a nice conversation and hear each other, but not be overheard. This is great quality british cooking that will not leave you dissappointed. Looking at photos won't ever do the taste justice. Well balanced, traditional, well prepared and clearly crafted and cooked by a well trained chef meant even though there are only a handful of options still left us agonising which to have. Wine was really fairly priced and served at the right temperature in really fine glasses, quite a treat. We've been to all the far more expensive dining options in and around Nottingham, and this offers exceptional value for money (Perkins being a close second), realistically this is only a few pounds more than a chain restaurant in town! A final point, I left my bag in the dining hall and the waiter made the effort to come running after me well after we had left to return it, I think that gesture alone speaks volumes for the establishment.

Always a delight to visit. Delicious seasonal food, extensive wine list and well-stocked bar. Relaxing, unpretentious atmosphere with good table spacing.

Went for lunch on Friday. It's hella trad, but in a good way: everything is done properly and quality is high. The sauce on my main was evidently a stock/wine reduction and of a standard I'd associate with a Michelin-rated restaurant!

This place is amazing. The food quality, presentation and the whole setting is so good, not to mention the low prices giving incredible value for money. Had the restaurant to ourselves for most of the evening and the staff were the perfect balance of attentive without being overbearing. Definitely going to come back for more.

Excellent food at such a great price! I'm a vegetarian and my husband is a meat lover, but we both were delighted by how delicious our selections were. We opted for the pre-theatre menu before a concert next door and they had great wines available to pair!

Hidden gem. This restaurant is hidden away in the Belgrave Rooms. Really nice decor inside. Limited menu, but good quality food at very inexpensive prices. Went on a Saturday night before 7pm and paid £12.50 for 2 courses. Ideally located for events in town. We were the only people in the restaurant. Service was very good, quick and friendly.

This is a lovely little known gem in our city. Fabulous food cooked by the wonderful chef and such reasonable prices. Although the main entrance has steps, a ramp at the right of the building, leads down to a door into the basement, from where there is lift access. There is an accessible toilet, which although on the small side, this wheelchair user can manage.
