Visited for the first time today as was in the local area. The outside is very welcoming and the staff on arrival were also pleasant. We wanted to have food but noticed no menus on the tables, the website, Facebook has a banner image that says Greene King plus so does the sign post outside, but don't think it's a Greene King anymore, none the less we were seated and a member of staff came over with some menus (website had some 241 offers but these weren't on the menu we were given). The staff were very nice and the atmosphere in the place was warm and relaxed, it had that feel like you were at a restaurant on holiday with the menus being brought out like that , which made me smile. We ordered the cottage pie and beef Lasagne, both came out in a timely manner and were piping hot, the food was lovely to very well cooked these were also quite large portion ls for the price, we would expected to pay more. Had an apple pie for dessert which was very soft and warm, better than dessert I've had from other places near by or in the City centre. We will be visiting again, very nice place, friendly and welcoming staff

Very helpful when nan couldn't come on her mobility scooter, so we took Sunday lunch with us. Great price and good selection of meat, roasties and veg/vegan with loads of hot gravy. I think the atmosphere reflects the landlord and his team's warmth, though very busy at the 2pm changeover they all took time to make sure we were catered for. We will come back on a brighter day.

Came to the fox tonight for a Christmas get together with friends . The Christmas Dinner was absolutely amazing and the price was fantastic personally I think they could charge more for it . The service of the staff was fab , the whole atmosphere of the pub was great . A bonus was the bingo and quiz night . Well done to management and his team 👏 👍 🙌 👌 💪 😀
