Thunder Road Kitchen

Review from an ex staff member. I worked st thunder road for four months and have an inside view of how the establishment works. aa far as the food is concerned there were a number of worrying things I noticed. The tuna would go crusty and brown, instead of binning that batch our boss would tell us to put more mayo in it to make it look fresher. A lot of the ingredients bought were not quality and were simply the cheapest our boss could get his hands on. One time when serving customers me I found that the chicken was blue with mould as it was very rare our boss would let us throw ingredients out until they'd been out for two days, despite the ingredients not being fresh in the first place. As a staff member we were treated poorly, our boss contributed to an uncomfortable work environment, getting in the way of serving customers, not letting the manager do her job to the point where she quit and she was an amazing staff member he was lucky to have. he would make fun of peoples appearances and just be very horrible for absolutely no reason. I assume its because he already had a number of failed businesses. overall the staff are most likely lovely but I wouldn't reccomend going here as the food is so hit and miss and I feel it's a food poisoning case waiting to happen. theres a much better cafe 2 minutes down the road where the boss really cares about the food and his staff.

Expensive and disappointing Having started a new job in the area I decided to sample the lunchtime offering. I asked for turkey and was told that they had southern fried chicken. I opted for plain chicken with cranberry and rocket. The roll, whilst fresh, was small in comparison to other similar establishments, the chicken was preformed small cubes and the rocket had to be sorted through out of a large bag of mixed salad. Sadly when I got back to the office the rocket was in fact lambs lettuce leaf. All in all for £3.20 not in my opinion value for money. Plus side friendly staff.
