The food here is absolutely amazing
Get the parmesan pillows are a must have
We did lots of small plates to share after a day out
It was just what was needed
Reservations probably a good idea but we got a table at 8.45pm on the day
Wine is expensive so check the menu first
Stopped off for what I heard was Nottingham’s best espresso martini and they weren’t wrong. Delicious and creamy. My colleagues also had the cinquecento and the hibiscus margarita and everyone devoured them. Didn’t eat here but I hear on good authority that it’s great too! We sat outside in the sunshine but lots of room inside too. Super friendly bar staff who didn’t object to us filming their cocktail making skills!
Wow what food, what service, and a great little quirky place. Sharing platter to start, beautiful cheeses on it. We had the seafood tagliatelle and the butternut squash, gorgonzola risotto. Risotto was stunning. Can't wait to go back to have it again. Fab choices of wine and gorgeous limoncello to finish
(May 2023) A wonderfully different Italian eating experience. If you're looking for pizza and pasta dishes, then look elsewhere. What you'll find here is more of a tapas style of beautifully presented and tasty Italian dishes and flavours. The décor is unique, the building carries a lot of history in Nottingham and Gigi have managed to create a very contemporary and classy atmosphere for such an old building. The waiting staff are particularly good, many of whom bring some authenticity with their Italian background. The wine cellar will keep aficionados and amateurs happy with a broad selection of great Italian wines, many served by the glass as well as the bottle.
It's not a cheap dinner, but it's not expensive either if you consider the quality of the dishes, the service and the wonderful dining room.
Highly recommend.

Hidden gem indeed! First time visiting a few weeks ago. Lovely fresh environment in a characterful building. Food was really good, bread portion could feed 6 people but was the perfect taste and texture. Burrata and peaches was great, as was the pork rib.
Highly recommended place to meet and eat in Central Nottingham. A sort of Italian tapas menu. Every dish was incredibly tasty and good value. Engaging staff in modern, clean environment.
Wow, just Wow😍
Bar gigi is absolutely beautiful!
The food was so delicious, the service was to perfection. Thank you very much Christian for your wonderful service.. Christian looked after us made sure we had our meals in good time & suggested a perfect wine to go with my meal.
Loved everything about the place.
Deco, food & staff!
🇮🇹 Bar Gigi is an authentic Italian restaurant, a little gem hidden in the famous Flying Horse Walk (a 14th century building) in Nottingham.
We opted for the lunch time menu:
Focaccia & olive oil + 2 piatti dishes @ £22 pp
✨ Burrata
✨ Cauliflower Steak
✨ Chicken Milanese
✨ Fried Calamari
Accompanied by … Peroni 🍻
The menu wasn’t extensive but what they did was tasty and of exceptional quality.
FINAL THOUGHT: I would recommend to anyone who appreciates authentic, quality Italian food in stylish surroundings.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. The quality of the produce is incredible and the flavours are perfect. We went completely overboard and ordered way too much because we couldn't choose just a few dishes. The staff really know their stuff and take pride in what they serve too which just adds to the already brilliant experience.
I would 100000% recommend.
