We have been away for the weekend in a log cabin and walked down to the star. All I can say is what a welcoming place. Staff all amazing went out the way for all 8 of us. Booked in for Sunday dinner and was absolutely amazing food nothing was to much for them. We will definitely be going back i would highly recommend this pub x

Stayed at Alton towers food wasn't that good so decided to have a drive in to the local village came across this pub ordered food and drink they were really good would recommend to any one staying at Alton towers to try this place absolutely quality food and drink

Truly a fantastic restaurant, just a short 4 minute drive from Alton Towers it's a must go to restaurant! The food is far superior the value for money is much better and the staff are very nice. We came with a party of 16. They were great with the kids, fast service with drinks and food along with serving other tables.
Delicious food, great service and great location can't ask for more!

A beautiful evening shared with my new fiancé and the Star did not disappoint! We both had 3 courses washed down with some of their cocktails! Just WOW! Jess and Jess were excellent waitresses and went above expectation when our dessert arrived with a sparkler and a ‘congrats’ message for our engagement! We will definitely be returning!

Had such a lovely baby shower here yesterday, the grazing board looked and tasted amazing including the personalised cupcakes. Staff were very attentive allowing us the whole restaurant area to decorate and enjoy without disturbing other guests. Thank you very much, would definitely recommend.

Just come out, after having a fantastic meal! It is our 1st wedding anniversary and Jess the waitress made it so special! Huge shoutout to her!! Amazing food, great atmosphere, enjoyed it from start to finish!! Also a lovely touch on our puddings as they had remembered it was special occasion!!! Can’t wait to come back! Enya & Scott xx

Great food. Had various vegetarian, GF and vegan options. Only issue was wasn't told what was sold out before ordering. We also ordered 2 starters one only arrived and then was asked hasn't we been told there was only one portion left. However Would definitely go again.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant which is very, very well ran with amazing service. Great communication via booking in advance with Emma. And the food was delicious! As a table of 18, everything ran so smoothly and it was just great Thankyou again!

Went here after a recommendation from a friend and seeing the instagram posts I decided to book and go down. Parking was an issue as the car park is quite small and all spaces were full.
This was the only bad thing.
Food was bang on, sharing platter not badly priced at £20pp. Had everything on it and the service was so quick, they couldn’t do enough. Amazing time and I will be going back for other sharing boards in the future.

Starters were fantastic, would not recommend the chicken tikka skewer, not to my taste and expensive for what it was but my partner had the pie which was amazing! Would definitely go again and try other dishes. Service was really good, waitresses did a great job. Overall good place to eat!

The mushroom stroganoff I chose was Ok. Thought was not worth the £16.
Chunky chips were bearable! Over cooked.
Cheesecake and cocktails were very good.

We held my mums wake here. We ordered a buffet for 35 people. The food was was very good quality and excellent value for money. There was more than enough food. The staff were excellent and nothing was much trouble. Sara made us all feel welcome added a personal touch. Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion
