The White Bull, Oswaldtwistle

Lovely little find. The service was professional yet friendly, the food was delicious, couldn’t fault a thing (the best chunky chips I’ve had). The place had a very cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Just wish we had taken photos but we were too busy enjoying the food. We will definitely be returning, thank you.

We tried the White Bull on a midweek evening. It was quiet, but we were welcomed well. The food was excellent, and above regular pub standards by quite a way! Unfortunately, the real ale selection was limited. We did have the ale that was on, and it was perfectly good - but more of a choice would take this from a good pub, to a really excellent one. It is worth noting that there was a good choice of lager - just not our scene. We would happily visit again.

What a wonderful lunch today. Called in unexpectedly as other plans gsd to be cancelled and boy was I glad, was our first visit but certainly not our last as food all courses was amazing. Great service from owner so lovely and gelpful. Starters was tempura king prawns for my husband and smoked mackerel pate for me, both with fabulous accompaniments, mains steamed mussels with thai broth, fries and lovely bread for hubby and mine onevofvthe best fish pies I have had the pleasure to eat, with mangetout, samphire and spring onions all beautifully cooked, buttered and seasoned.
