Me my wife and 12 friends all went to the greyhound in overton on Saturday evening for a xmas get together the friendly atmosphere and the warm welcome from mark Lisa and Sadie made for a fantastic evening and the food was excellent and great value for money i would recommend the greyhound to anyone who is looking for a great relaxed evening.

It was very quiet but it was a Sunday evening/night. This was good as I could have a chat with my friend without loud noise from elsewhere making talking and hearing one another hard. But it also meant that the pub had no real atmosphere.
The service was okay, nothing special. There were times when the bar wasn't manned for long periods, so you were left standing at the bar in your own thoughts, which is dangerous.
Great pub, great grub too - lasagne is great. Beer garden with play area for kids - perfect for summer
Edit Sept 2020 - unbelievably, the pub has got even better. Amazing specials menu changing regularly, with fantastic treats including Salmon with bubble and squeak, fall-apart-in-your-mouth ribs, and Thai fish curry. Amazing. Go here now.
Absolutely incredible food and portions very generous. Beef dripping chips are incredible.
Although we've been living in Overton since March 2019 yesterday was the first time we went to the Greyhound. We had dinner, and it was exquisite. Flavoursome English pea & sparragus creamy risotto with parmesan. I enjoyed and tasted all ingredients. My husband had fish & chips. He loved everything on the plate. So unusual for him. The beef dripping chips, the fish, tartare sauce with capers and peas with mint. Also, he loved the starter black pudding roll.
On top of that, there was a very friendly atmosphere, with familiar faces. Fully recommend this place. Thanks for making Overton restaurants and pubs even more interesting that they're.
Sunday roast, yummy! Home cooked like your Grandma would make it… really tasty. Highly recommend, and good value for money. The Greyhound has become my new favourite in Overton over the last few months! 😀

Popped in for a quick drink with the kids when passing. Great childrens play area, nice and secure. Staff and locals were lovely. Very reasonable prices, will definitely be stopping again soon. Thank you!
Amazing takeaway/delivery food. We had 4 meals delivered and we all commented how good it was. Even my 4yr and 9 yr olds said how good it was and they are the ones who normally moan. Cant recommend highly enough. Also delivery was really quick so give it a go.

Another Saturday lunch treat, real fire, lovely people and delicious food. Today was beef short ribs and omg, when the plate came out it was jam packed with good food, they out-faced me, but that meat not one scap left.

Friendly local pub with nice food and a friendly welcome. Also a good selection of beers. We had our Christmas meal there last night and we all had a really good night with lovely food. The pub is as good as ever and still warm and friendly.
