Called in last week and great chips - light and crisp. You can't beat good chips and Mariners have got it spot on. Sides are good too, love their mushy peas - just how they should be!

That wasn't a large cod it was a whale ! Delicious too. Chicken was tasty and moist. Plenty of chips for two in large portion. Excellent meal.
Disappointing. One lovely piece of fish, the other was virtually non-existent under the batter. Chips were really poor --soggy and full of bits, rather than whole large chips. We may give it one more go, but it has to be better. We went back at the end of January and it was a different story. Excellent fish and chips, so I have modified my review.
Absolutely lovely cod and chips. We have 4 adults in our house and we made the mistake 1st time we visited of ordering 4 large cod and chips. We had a lot of chips left over as we just could not eat anymore. The fish just fell off from the batter. It was hot, juicy and so delicious. We have been back again for 4 cod with 2 small chips. Never had a problem with it being dry. Always queuing out the door so that speaks for itself. Thank you for the lovely food.

Food always good, but this last visit, teenage customer 'service' left much to be desired. Just because you are the only 'fish' in the pond doesn't mean customers can be served with a degree of contemptable disdain..
Ok, pandemic fish n chips after work on my anniversary, not allowed out and couldn’t be bothered with restaurant prices just to take home to my kitchen table.
So went to Mariners, OMG this was amazing, this fish was meaty, fresh and tasty, batter crispy and the chips were perfect.
10 out of 10 great meal, will go back.

Seems there has been a change of owner, and with that kebabs have arrived in Overton. It's a good kebab, recommended.

Fresh hot fish, portions are more than filling, large menu selection with plenty of variety and great staff. I do wish they delivered though! 😊
