My girlfriend and I had an evening meal on Tuesday night. Didn't know what to expect. But must say that the food was excellent. We have just returned from a week in Venice and the food was exactly the same. The shared starter platter was delicious, I could eat that for breakfast, dinner and tea. They also had the largest selection of amaro I have seen outside of Italy. The calves liver was so soft. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
To my Gluten-free friends in Oxford, not only is the food delicious and the staff wonderful, but La Cucina has the best Gluten-free menu with the most options that I have ever seen!! Thank you, La Cucina! I will be back!
Having spent what feels like years wanting to come and try the food here, we finally booked a table. The starters were really really nice, and came out so fast, especially given that it was busy. The mains followed soon after, and both were well presented. The food is all freshly prepared and you can really tell they make it with love. Unfortunately on this occasion, my main lacked any real flavour to it, but the pasta itself was home made and very well cooked.
The dessert was perfect, and I’m sure we will return to try something new on the menu! Glad to have found a trusty local Italian restaurant
We have been here for the third day in row since we were extremely satisfied with the quality of the meals.
The truffle pasta with pesto and spinach, was absolutely mind blowing.
The service is perfect as well, I think the prices are reasonable to.
Waiting time is really short. The open kitchen design, with fresh vegetables makes the restaurant really authentic.
Beautiful ambience, gives you a feel of italy and all its wonderful meals.
Food was tasty and portion sizes were good.
Fair pricing for oxford and its location.
It was rainy and cool (in July). I snuck into the back of the restaurant chilled from walking in drizzle. I sat next to the kitchen, warm and buzzing with chefs, pots, and food. The lasagna was delicious. Hot, cheesy, tangy, beefy and kissed with tomato. The tiramisu didn’t disappoint either. I love cooking, and it was a pleasure to be around the chef, enjoy a delicious meal, and see and hear the inner workings of an everything made from scratch kitchen.
A lovely and friendly Italian restaurant serving some fantastic food. Loads of pizzas and pasta dishes including a massive calzone! The pork chop with nduja, smoked cheese and mash (last Sunday's special) is delicious.
The food was good, especially the Risotto.
The Parma ham for pizza was too salty, making us very thirsty after eating it.
Not much service given from the restaurant but we can all the staff looks friendly.
All the staff were super accommodating and friendly, and the food was excellent. Would recommend if you’re visiting Oxford
My favourite restaurant in Oxford. Good authentic food at a reasonable price with friendly staff and great service. The specials are normally great as well and well worth ordering from.
Lovely place to eat, lots of choice of great food. I popped in on my own during the evening without booking and they were happy to seat me. I ordered the Seafood Pizza and a side salad, they were both delicious! The staff are great, friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. So if you're in the area and want some fabulous Italian food, pop in! I can definitely recommend.
On a trip to Oxford with the family. My son booked La Cucina for traditional Italian pizzas…catered for Gluten free. Really tasty pizzas would definitely recommend this restaurant. I believe you won’t be disappointed. Nice food La Cucina, thank you.
