We had such a fantastic wedding day! Trish and Jonny were so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and there was so much choice. The venue was great for a wedding, the marquee is lovely and the lower boathouse looked beautiful with all the fairy lights. It was so pretty near the river and we even surprised our guests by arriving on a punt!
The Boathouse is beautifully situated by the river and the ambience is excellent. We've been to this excellent restaurant several times and always had a great meal, but we've never been for Sunday lunch before. Now we've been, we will definitely go back - it was excellent. I had:
- Leg of lamb (served pink), served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, roasted red onion, sweet potato purée.
- Nutty Caramel, banana cake, yabba dabba doo ice cream
Both delicious. Couldn't fault it. Thanks Boathouse!
We had such a lovely dinner here. The atmosphere is just magical on a nice summer evening and the staff just makes the whole experience even better. -1 star because the steak was completely over cooked when we asked for medium rare
What a fantastic few hours. We hired a punt and went up and down the River Cherwell.
It’s was lovely and relaxing. Fun to watch some people who were really struggling with getting to grip with how to work a punt. Some people managed it really well.
If you bumped into someone they would help push you away so you can get on your way again.
The birds on the river don’t seem bothered by all the boats!
We got the pole stuck once but uses the oar to fetch in back. Luckily the poles float!
Amazing location and food is really good! And if you have time to punt its a must! They have a small cafe you can buy food and drink from too if you didnt come prepared.
We had a wonderful time here, the lunch is delicious, every dish presented so nice and yummy. The staff are friendly and attentive.
We come on weekday so not crowded. The river scene outside the boathouse is very nice , believe it will look gorgeous in summertime where you can rent a boat for a ride before or after meal.
Recently visited the Boathouse for an event.
It’s one of the nice places in Oxford with a very good wine list and decent food.
On this occasion was not impressed by the main course which was quite ordinary.
Service is good
Meal for 2 can be easily £120 with a glass of wine ( if you have 3 courses )
Verdict 4/5 because of ordinary main courses

We had our wedding reception here and it was superb. The staff were exceptional - nothing was too much trouble, they knew exactly what they were doing and were incredibly professional and relaxed. Food and drink was great, atmosphere even better. And you can’t beat the setting. Cannot recommend highly enough for an event. Thank you Joe, Trish, Grant and team

Phenomenal service - very friendly, kind admin and personnel! They took care of everything, our table that we booked 15min before arrival, asking about my daughter’s glass if that’s okay for her apple juice, making sure we like the food and enjoying our time.
Simple but very well done food. My starter with pork just changed my life! Our dessert with almond and creme fraiche was unbelievably delicious!
For starters as complimentary from the restaurant they brought bread with salted butter which was very fresh and delicious! Overall, we will definitely come back in summer to seat outside and enjoy this delicious cuisine!
Best wedding venue ever. Had my little brothers wedding meal and party here and it was amazing. Best staff, boats were good fun too!
