Had a magnificent dinner with my family at Gee's on Saturday night. Everyone raved about their dinner and I was thrilled to have finally found a place in Oxford that serves a world class steak. Atmosphere was lovely and, all in all, a happy and unforgettable evening. Our Italian waitress was polite, attentive and enthusiastic.

A mistake was made with the cooking of my fish. Not only was I given a salad to eat while waiting for a fresh one but when the bill came they didn't charge for the fish. First rate service, and terrific food and atmosphere!

Second visit here and really enjoy it. The old high iron clad windows conservatory style is charming and the giant olive tree at the entrance is a nice focal point too.

The food is good, cleanly presented, tasty and not at all over facing. The waiters/waitresses are very attentive and polite.

It can be quite expensive, but overall the experience allows that.

I had a monkfish tail which was very good and my girlfriend had the chickpea and burrata (veggie) dish, again - we first visited in March ‘18 and surprised the options aren’t varied.

Espaço muiiito giro! Vale a pena pedir a tábua de variados petiscos de entrada! Pratos bons e variados mas sem dúvida que a burrata com salada e a fraca são as melhores escolhas. O Peixe grelhado era enorme, poderia dividir se!

Sunday lunch. Set in a Victorian green house Gees is a beautiful setting for a luncheon at Oxford.
The Sunday Roast of lamb was delicious with the accompanying yorkshire pud greens and carrots. The mint sauce complimented the roast. The Risotto Milanese was passable but the star was the burger plated minimalist yet wholesome and cooked perfectly. The peach sorbet and the tiramusu rounded up a Sunday luncheon.

Another must do if you're in Oxford.

The menu is priced relatively higher than neighboring restaurants but the food totally lives up to it. Absolutely divine.

We ordered the steak, lamp chop and trout. I don't eat seafood but tried the trout because my brother in law was raving about it and I can definitely say it was the best dish amongst the three.

Our server was super awesome as well (I wish I had asked for her name so I could give her a shout out but I forgot :( .. Anyway!)

Gee's was always regarded as one of the nicest restaurants in Oxford about a decade ago. In terms of setting, ambiance and decor, it is still lovely, the main area of the restaurant is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy any meal, but the menu lacks in imagination somewhat. The restaurant has priced down the menu quite substantially (or perhaps things seemed more expensive when I was a student) with locally-sourced ingredients. There is usually a decent variety of fish, veggie and meat dishes. We stopped by for lunch and had roasted pepper pizzetta to start (swapped the taleggio cheese for mozzarella because one member of the party doesn't like strong cheese) and the brown shrimp pizzetta which was, well, very shrimpy (don't recommend this one, the tomato base was too strong).

For mains I had the linguine with crab, which was well seasoned, plenty of fresh crab and the right kick of chili. My friends opted for the baked aubergine parmegiana and the fillet of hake. Both got a thumbs up. Portions are a decent size here.

Dessert: chocolate cake, lemon tart and eton mess. My favourite was the lemon tart - perfect balance of citrus and sweet, although the pastry could have been thinner and crisper. The chocolate cake was served with almond ice cream - the cake itself was delicious, but the ice cream didn't taste of much. The Eton mess was a tad sweet for my palate but my friends enjoyed it.

We were really excited to come here, but this place was okay nothing too crazy for us! Maybe the hype was just too much, but still I would recommend it! Interior: So cute and lovely inside so definitely get a nice aesthetic feel to it. Food: Guinea Fowl: Always down to try new things and this fowl was no exception. But I'm glad I did because it was good! My rating comes from more So the rest of my party and they were not as hype as they were about the end of the meal lol Overall: Still this is a great place to go to. It definitely gets busy so make sure you go at a good time.

Sat in the atrium of this restaurant right next to or maybe in the midst of Oxford, yet on the side with less traffic perhaps. We shared a gnocchi dish and two pizzetas. Absolutely refreshing and light but filling nonetheless. While we were there they offered a pre-fixe menu which was absolutely an amazing deal. I also had their chili pepper margarita. It had a catchy name but it was awesome! The atrium ambience was so delightful during our sunny day. I imagine it's gorgeous in the evening.

Very nice interior (even though the immediate presence of a mildly busy road takes a bit of the charm away), but sadly they only serve brunch from 10:30 to 11:00. I had a tasty cranberry juice there, but the goats cheese risotto was a bit boring and heavy -- could have done with a bit of it replaced with a small side salad.

What a beautiful setting! Dining at this restaurant feels like you're sitting in a greenhouse. We arrived for an early dinner and quickly ordered 2 starters, the asparagus with butter and the salmon. Both were fresh and came out quickly. Next our party had the ribeye and trout. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and the chips were the perfect accompaniment. We ended the night with sorbet and chocolate cake! The cake was divine and worth every single sinful calorie. In fact, next time in Oxford for business I will stop by for starters and dessert! Yum!

Really lovely restaurant in a quiet area of Oxford. The restaurant itself is in a greenhouse, which created a very intimate, romantic atmosphere--great for date night! I've been to the restaurant twice, and the food has been great. Go with their lamb and game dishes. Their dessert is also very tasty (we had sticky toffee pudding on the last visit...yum!). Their cocktails are hit-and-miss. I had a great gin and chartreuse cocktail, while my husband's amaretto-based cocktail was pretty awful. It would have been undrinkable, except that we had paid quite a bit for it.

Amazing atmosphere! Nothing comes near in Oxford for lunch time. Whether it is sunny, cloudy or rainy day, for every weather the atmosphere is unique in the restaurant. It is a glass house converted restaurant. Their menu changes depending on the veg and fruits of the season. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, atmosphere and service! I go to this place for lunch once a month. It's my top favourite place for lunch in Oxford. You can walk to this place from cornmarket in 15minutes.

Great food, great setting, and wonderful staff. We took our daughter here for her 21st birthday and Gee's did not disappoint. Ordered from the "All Day Menu" vs. the 3 course "Fixed Price" menu. Plenty of selection including the bar menu. They even got my martini correct, shaken not stirred. From small plates thru dessert we had nothing that was not first class. I would suggest making this a must stop if you are anywhere near Oxford. One of if not the best meal I have ever had in England.

Gee's came recommended and I placed it on my list to try. I opted for the 3 course dinner menu which was priced at £19.90. Grilled squid with lime and thyme This is probably the best way to taste the freshness of squid. Grilled to give a bit of smokey flavour and a touch of acidity with the lime with a hint of thyme, this would have gotten the thumbs up from me if not for the fact that the entire middle bit of the squid which is this one big chunk of meat was actually still raw. Understandably it does take longer to cook that section but I didn't finish it. Whole red mullet, saffron tomatoes and green beans The red mullet is actually quite a meaty piece of white fish. You get the whole mullet which actually equates to quite a substantial portion of meat. If you generally don't like the smell of fish, you might want to avoid this one. I loved the green beans which still had a good crunch in them and wasn't overcooked that it is just a pile of mush. The Bakewell tart had the slightly crumbly base and was pleasing to eat. I enjoyed my meal at Gee's. The service was attentive and it has a good vibe to it.

Yum! This place is an experience. We went for lunch on a Saturday, and had the three-course prix fixe. I had Jerusalem artichoke soup, gnocchi, and chocolate mousse. It was delicious. The ambiance was lovely, being surrounded by the glass of the old greenhouse. It had the feel of a garden, but still warm. The waitresses were very attentive, and the service was definitely good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it!

Such a romantic spot. Probably the most beautiful restaurant in Oxford. The restaurant's walls and roof are entirely glass; the decor with its small indoor trees and dangling lights make this place look like it's straight out of Pinterest. The comfy corner booths made for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner, and the large center table was perfect for a group birthday brunch! The gelato is to dieeee for. It was SO good. Get dessert if you're here for dinner for sure! They're also quite good about allergies; I have a nut allergy, and when I told the waitress, she took the menu back to the chef and he marked all the items that were guaranteed to be nut-free or that he could alter to fit my dietary requirements. Definitely a great place if you're looking for a special occasion venue.

This restaurant has my heart. The atmosphere was just bombastic, natural and comfortable. I have never eaten such good potatoes and broccoli and the service was fabulous. Very nice people and personable they were too. Price wise it is fair to the food as the quality was excellent.

We visited Gees on 14/05/23 whilst visiting Oxford and loved it! The food was phenomenal and our waitress was brilliant, she was a little quirky in the best way possible. She was great at her job and made us feel special and at home. We thought she needed recognition for her customer service skills. The atmosphere was incredible and the lighting was perfect. We hope to return soon.

We had the seafood linguine and the fillet of hake. For desert the crème catalana and tiramisu. It was my friend’s birthday as well so they gave us free ice cream which was really nice of everyone. The food tasted incredible, even the side dishes on the plate had so much flavour since it has been seasoned so well. The hake fell apart beautifully and was throughly cooked as well as the seafood linguine . Desert was a treat and when paired with the ice cream, tasted even better. We arrived at the restaurant earlier than the time we booked online but staff were accommodating and provided us a table in the outdoor seating area and were attentive on turning on the heating for us. Overall a really positive experience, it can get quite busy hence we did feel at times it was hard to try and get the server’s attention but the food was amazing which made our night and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will happily come back again 😊

A very nice venue overall, very 'Oxford'. The lamb was delicious, as were the Ratatouille and Potatoe sides. - The Conservatory is large and beautiful, lots of tables - It can get very noisy in there (for better or worse) - The service staff are very attentive and conversational - We walked in on a Sunday evening and got a table, but expect this is somewhere that needs prior booking - Sitting areas clean and well kept - The food was good, if not on the tad pricier side

Had a lovely experience here on a Wednesday night. We arrived in the evening and we were shown straight to the table. Service was a bit slow to start but after being noticed they were a lot more engaging. My favourite course was the scallops. They were full of flavour and cooked to perfection Both mains (chicken & steak) were cooked beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed. If I was being SUPER picky, I would say that the peppercorn sauce could have done with being a bit more acidic. It was very peppery and that could just be my preference. Regardless, the wine was lovely and had a great atmosphere. Next time I come, I would like to try the cocktails because they did look good. Would recommend

Looked after about 15 of us for an 80th birthday lunch. Staff very helpful, food was good but not special. Whole experience was just right for the occasion. As an oldie I judged the prices excessive.... specially the wine price. However I didn't pick up the tab so all in all a great meal!

Sensational Mediterranean-style restaurant set in a conservatory. We went mid-week and it was busy so booking is essential. Impeccable service, food, drinks, and seating. We really enjoyed our time at Gees. Started with a Queen Bee (ginger liqueur, gin, lemon and honey) that slipped down very well and had a good sized gingery aftertaste. For starters, it was octopus cooked over a wood fire on a bed of lentils and carrot. Every layer was delicious and flavoursome. The octopus was perfectly cooked. Salmon fish cakes followed and these I found to be quality but totally filling. Not soaked in oil nor greasy and a just right portion size. Will definitely revisit.

Large restaurant in quieter part of town. Main seating in large conservatory but also nice garden area with awning. We were 3 adults and 2 children. The latter were given crayons and paper to use which they loved. All of us really enjoyed our meals. Only took one star away as my rigatoni and duck could have been hotter and no stirrer in my very nice sangria. Service was friendly and prompt Thought good value as we all had 2 courses, drinks and service charge brought meal total in under £200 which was a pleasant surprise for quality meal.
