Whistle Stop

Went here with my brother for dinner the other night. Service was great and the food was prepared very quickly. The restaurant has ample parking and is located only a couple of minutes away from I-395. We chose to sit at the bar but there are booths and tables available. Atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I would seriously consider a return visit. You can’t go wrong here!

Good solid pub food with smiles and attentive service. One of those Roadhouse style restaurants that are hard to find these days. Mostly locals but it's right off I-395, if you poke around. Highly recommended! Worth timing your long haul drive for lunch or dinner to stop in. My shrimp wrap was delicious.

I have not been to the Whistle Stop in quite a few years. I had a poor experience when they changed ownership a few years back and this is my first time going since. My wife ordered a glass of wine and it arrived with some bright red lipstick already on the glass! Our meals were extremely mediocre. My haddock BLT wrap was okay, but the smallest wrap I've ever had. It resembled a large egg roll. I've included a picture.

My brother and I got food and drinks. We had hard Cider. Absolutely delicious and it was local! We could get it with a caramel and cinnamon rim and that was an amazing touch. We split nachos and each got a cup of clam chowder. Absolutely wolfed that down. Lots of chunks of clams and they piled on the toppings on the nachos. The food was amazing. Definitely want to come back!

First off the food was very good. But my experience was dampened by terrible service from our waitress Joyce. She was very rude from the beginning, and was not personable once. We felt very unwelcomed throughout the meal. She also disappeared for a good 25 minutes while we ate, not checking in on us once. The funny thing is she didn’t disappear, she walked by us several times without asking how our food was or if we needed anything. Just a very rude waitress, who gave terrible service. If you get joyce as your waitress, I would ask for somebody else, or run away!
