Lovely place. It's difficult to understand from outside how spacious the pub is. There is a wonderful garden area at the back. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. One of the few pubs in the locality. And the locality is beautiful. It's on a beautiful stretch of road. I liked the ambience. Dec
A quaint pub right beside the hospital. Wonderful place to read a book or have a chat with friends. Highly recommend the outdoor garden, if it’s sunny.
A lovely place to grab a pint or a plate of scrumptious food. Would definitely recommend coming here! Service was wonderful and they were happy to host a party of 12 at quite short notice. Thanks!
Always a warm welcome at this treasure of a pub. We're so lucky that we live in walking distance. Service is excellent, definitely worth booking if you want to eat. Food is always good and plenty of people visiting so there's always a nice atmosphere. Prices are what to expect in Oxford for a very
I'm not sure if this place counts as a 'hidden gem', but if so, it is the shiniest! Easily the most beautiful and pleasant pub garden I have visited in Oxford, lovely staff and service, and a nice selection of different beers to choose from. Can't recommend it enough.
Lovely rural pub, pleasant and helpful staff. Nice food and a gorgeous pub garden! It’s a shame they don’t have a car park as trying to find appropriate parking where you don’t have to risk a ticket was difficult but I would say it’s worth the trip and maybe a little walk depending on where you park
An exceptionally attractive pub with a beautiful walled garden to the rear. I felt that the welcoming and helpful staff were doing everything to maintain high standards of safety and hygiene during these difficult days. I felt totally comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed their excellent fish and chi
One of the best pubs in Oxford. Friendly atmosphere. Gorgeous Garden with vibe when in sunset. Staffs are really friendly. Better to reserve your table ahead. You could enjoy nice beer with drool worthy food.
Splendid old fashioned pub with great pies. The garden is beautiful and a must to visit in the summer. Been here many time and always happy to come back.
Best roast I've ever had. Too bad I don't live in Oxford or I'd be there every weekend. The cauliflower was the best I've ever had and the gravy was banging. Meat was a bit tough but still tasted brill. Walked out wobbling because I was so stuffed.
Great Pies, marvellous beers, terrific service. We came as a group of 8 plus a baby and they immediately made room for us. The place is very busy but the drinks and food were served very quickly. As a man with great experience of pies (draw your own conclusions), this was probably one of the best
Incredible garden, not only large but a real sun trap. Decent selection of beers on tap and great pies. Small inside if the weather isn’t so good and hard to park nearby as there’s a lot of permit only areas.
Good food especially pies. Service quite slow when we visited. Good range of beers. Comfortable and welcoming.
Very good pub... cozy nice beer nice beer garden.. good friendly staff... can't complain about anything.. it's a good place to have a pint in the sunshine..
Good food and choice (pies are the speciality), probably one of the best hidden beer gardens in Oxford. Friendly and efficient staff.
Me and the misses had pie chips and peas, pie was very very tasty. Staff polite and friendly, a proper pub with proper good beer too.
It's an amazing pub with nice food and drinks.
Fantastic service, warm and welcoming. Delicious pies 👍🏼
