Great food whether you are there for a Sunday lunch, a special meal or for great value on a Tuesday with 2-4-1 gourmet burgers. Traditional country pub with friendly staff and locals - I can recommend the pie of the week
A group of us went for lunch today after a visit to Upton Viva Stud. The food and service were both brilliant. We were a group of 18 and had pre-ordered the food the day before. The atmosphere in the place was very relaxing and we all chatted away happily for a couple of hours while eating our lunch. We had everything from omelettes, melts, pork, burgers, fish fingers and steak ... no complaints about any of it xx
Really impressed with this place, the menu is quite small but the food was outstanding. What blew me away evan more was the price. 3 corses for 2 people & 2 drinks each for £52. Bargain!
Proper pub.
Lovely real ale.
Small menu but real food by a chef not that chain cooked food in High Street pubs.
Main fact we will return
A fantastic find! We were walking the dog and came here for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The servers were brilliant and the food was delicious. I had a Tuna burger (the picture doesn't do it justice!). A seared Tuna steak with wasabi mayo and crunchy vegetables. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty! I also liked the beers they had on tap - some interesting selections as well as the standards you'd expect. We sat by the fire which was lit and welcome with the cold weather outside. It's a lovely atmosphere for an afternoon in the countryside. I'm very glad we stumbled across this place and I will definitely endeavour to come again.
Brilliant country pub with a wonderful atmosphere and genuine attention to detail. We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch with great beer!
This place is amazing! The food is elevated pub food with special menu items and events that give it an international flair. Chef Jess and her team are very talented. Do yourself a favor and go here if you are in the area!
We only stopped for a drink, but had the best ever Butty Bach (my favourite beer). Beats that at both Bitter and Twisted and The Lion. It’s a beautiful, old fashioned country pub. There’s a small grassed rear garden with benches and limited seating at the front, where the view is beautiful. It was busy in the evening, and it’s understandably popular. Having seen the excellent menu, we will certainly be back. Be careful in the car park if you have low clearance.
Lovely 3 course meal for my birthday, lovely staff, nice touch with the table decoration - will definitely be back 🙂
What a fabulous by chance find, lovely atmosphere and the food was divine.
Definitely worth a visit..
We had the squid and sides. Service fantastic, this is a hidden gem. It's a must visit a real English pub with atmosphere and a warm welcome. Brilliant
The food was absolutely amazing, the staff are very friendly and prompt service. This is some of the best food I’ve had from a pub in a long time, it’s both visually and sensually pleasing not to mention tastes incredible. Cannot recommend enough.
