What a place! It's the dreamed oasis at the end of a nice long walk around Limpsfield Common. We set outside in the sunshine, but inside felt cozy and friendly too. It's a really quiet spot where to sit a fresh cold pint and maybe have a chat with the people at the bar, everybody looked very friendly.

Quick service, friendly staff, and delicious roast options. I had the vegetarian butternut squash Wellington and my hubby loved the lamb roast. Definitely recommended, and it’s a minute away from natural green areas ideal to walk off the extra calories of the pudding (the crème brûlée was spectacular!) 😍

The carpenters arms is a far larger pub than one would expect from its frontage. Opposite a large area part green and part heath you find no car park, but uninterrupted roadway with no double yellow lines. Sitting on the top of a hill there are many walks from here. The common society lists route and even provides maps, but the signposts are good. So you have found a good place to start a dog walk, a ramble, or cycle. Wear boots as this is mainly farm land and can be muddy in wet weather. The pub itself has a traditional bar, a small patio looking over the common, which is all very cute and rural. The ceiling is beamed and the walls have pictures of dogs, whippets I think or maybe greyhound. To the rear you enter a large and well lit restaurant. A large bear garden with seating. Nice volumes of food on a plate. Service on a Sunday, needs to be better, we left feeling a bit ignored. There was a long delay between starter and main. We had to ask to have the table cleared, find someone to reordér drinks and then the staff started blowing out candles and clearing around us at 6pm, but not clearing our table. A shame as we had heard such good things. Will give it a second go, but it's location and charm won't make up for poor service. Could easily be a 5 star, but wasn't

Charming pub with beautiful and maintained garden. Customer service was great. We were out hiking so had brought a picnic and only consumed drinks. We wished we hadn't already eaten as the atmosphere and food looked amazing.

Lovely pub!! Massive outside garden + inside restaurant + outside dinner seating area. Fast service, high-quality food presented nicely and nice relaxed atmosphere. Only thing is it's quite pricey but we are post-pandemic.

Summary - Cosy gastropub Day / time - Sat eve Food - Ordered Italian bread and oil, and halloumi fries. Very nice. Noise - No music, ambient noise varied in conservatory area. Atmosphere - Cosy, very respectable. Decor - Clean and homely. Real candles. I liked it. Service - Good and prompt. Parking - We parked nearby, next to Limpsfield Common (nice walk) Price - We only got starters. Not too expensive, but expect gastro pub prices.
