The Local Gastro Bar And Grill

I lived in Paignton all my life and remember this place as Pappers for an end of the night kebab. Since Andy took over for what ever reason I’ve not been in . That has been a massive mistake went there tonight for a meal with a mate and was blown away by the quality of the food . The place is very nicely done out very clean and the food OMG fantastic. Will definitely be telling everyone about it and will definitely be back . I seriously recommend this great restaurant . Gary Bond owner of Leisure 2000 .

Delicious food and a very family friendly atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Even had a chat with us in a quieter moment. My wife said the Sunday roast was so nice, she was gutted she couldn’t manage to finish it. The burgers are huge and very flavourful. There is no way you are leaving this place without a full belly. Highly recommend.

Our last sample of the food experience in Paignton over a few days and this one was pretty impressive. The chef knows how to cook a Steak and according to the misses the Lamb Chomp was pretty exceptional as well. Good service, Dog friendly and great food. You should give them a go when you're next there.

Staying in Paignton for a few days, always struggle to find somewhere to have evening meal. Looked for best restaurants and the Local Gastro Bar and Grill came out on top. We were a little worried when looking for prices when it said “call for a quote”. But we chose to eat here and Chef Andy explained that he couldn’t provide fixed prices due to the variable costs of the fresh locally sourced ingredients. We needn’t have worried our meal for two of Sea-bass and Moules Mariniere plus a good bottle of Sauvignon Blanc came to £65, superbly cooked and well presented.. Waitress Bee was a breath of fresh air in these difficult times for the restaurant industry.

What a gem of a place. Started with such a friendly welcome by the staff, including the chef as the kitchen is completely visible, behind glass. Seated at a lovely high table. Extremely clean and well looked after interior. Nice selection of drinks and my wife's pink g&t was one of the best she said she's had. For food, I had the Bbq mixed grill. All that's going to last a couple of days it was so big. Great selection of meats on it. My wife had salmon on zucchini spaghetti! Different, but very very tasty. When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised as it was very reasonable. All in all a lovely evening with lovely food and exemplary service. Def a go back to bistro.
