The Strand Bistro

This is a normal Swedish hotel of a better quality. You also have a small amount of candy and things to buy. A grocery store (ICA esplanad) is just some minute walk away. And several restaurants too. There was dust behind the curtain. The hotel didn’t seem to care about that, more than the usual, we send someone. But I had already checked out as it was the day after.

Great hotel with amazing staff! The rooms are really nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a problem with the room, talked with the staff about it and received a new room. We really liked our experience here, and the location is great, right next to the main street in the city center!

First of all I have to say thanks to the Principal Helen. Her attention to the team has been exceptional from the beginning until the end of our stay. Also the evening receptionist, Felicia, was very helpful, and friendly (thanks for the coffee at 4am) 👍 I'm sorry to say that the morning receptionist had unfriendly gestures in giving us information we didn't know, o when we request the key for the laundry or the kitchen. 👎 The room was double, the space a little limited but all clean and in place. If you want more space you can go to the Lobby. Was perfect to me. 👍 Also, there is a laundry room in each of the buildings, as well as an ironing room and a communal kitchen with utensils. 👍 Sauna it's OK, and it's divided for women and men. There is a lot of lockers and space. A pool is under construction also. 👍 I like a lot the gym. Is biggest than other FHs but there is a member area you can't join if you don't have a membership 🤞 The breakfast is included and there is a restaurant that you can eat for 10€ approx from Monday to Friday. Our room was tidy, clean, spacious, and comfortable. Excellent double bed and best hotel room TV I've seen. Breakfast was good as well and there is a well equipped gym, sauna, and (apparently soon) pool available. Location is great, 5 min walk from the train and just on the edge of the city centre ("Stenstaden") with all its restaurants and beautiful buildings. The only negative thing was that the room's main vent was of a strange model that was very noisy (we stuffed it with a couple of socks to quiet it down so we could sleep).

The place is a bit worn down but the theme was that of being on a boat so it kind of fit. It was cozy and the bed was amazing. Breakfast was really good. Not he largest selection of items but almost everything was great. Plättarna (small pancakes) was awesome, bread was great, great tasting desserts, great porridge. The sausages was a bit too salty but meatballs and scrambled eggs were on point.
