This is a great little, almost country style mainline junction station with the Newquay branch line and St.Blazey depot lines diverging here. Great for both catching long distance and local services as well as just sitting and watching the trains. There's a ticket office, waiting room, toilets and small café in settings which haven't changed much over the years - lovely.
Barry the stationmaster is the BEST! Saved my holiday by going above and beyond to get my coat that I stupidly left on the train and sending it to St Erth. So so impressed and grateful. Barry for prime minister! Hoping this gets passed along.
Genuinely the best station I may have ever been to, the Newquay connection comes straight of the london train.
Staff were totally insane and you could feel the great vibes within.
Finally the ability to get to fowey in 10 mins makes it the best station for the wonderful seaside town with the sailing, beaches and brown sugar. PAR>LISKEARD
Par, where do I start. The train station is amazing and the staff are friendly and always helpful. The Newquay branch line is an exquisite service, only available here at par.
In my time at Par, there was nothing that was bad. The trains make a silent noise deep into the night to help you sleep, and it gives consistent GWR service into London in only 3 hours.
That’s enough about the station though, the quick travel to the nearby towns of Fowey, St Austell or Mevagissy is really useful and easy to use with taxis that wait outside the station for you.
The Par beach is beautiful and large. The sand is a golden brown and the perfect temperature for a run or a sunbathe. The sea is a deep blue that reflects the happiness of the seaside town.

Nice little train station with regular service on the London Paddington route. Close by to many local hotels in St Austell.
Nice clean station with a connection to a beautiful branch line towards Newquay.
never been but absolutely class from what i’ve heard (let’s go that’s class)
Such a great station where the staff are BRILLIANT! Special shout out for Barry and Keeley in particular who are amazing. Well kept, clean and always well maintained. Parking fantastic. Full of character. Well done everyone at Par Train station you’re a credit to the Railway network! :)
Nice clean station, change here for Newquay rail branch. Footbridge access only to middle, island platform, no disabled access.
