A lovely welcoming homely cafe with proper home made chips, local pies, ham etc all at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit. Also dog friendly! Thank you from Tina, Michael & Millie the Schnauzer
Excellent service and staff, great food and atmosphere. Far better than large corporate outlets.
The staff/owners deserve business 100%
Found this gem of a café through Google maps and Facebook. Called to make a booking. The lady was warm and welcoming and accommodated our request for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, Don welcomed us to our table by name and couldn't be more helpful. In addition to the printed café menu there was a comprehensive array of specials boards which were fully explained. The vegetables were particularly well cooked and the meal portions were generous; lashings of gravy! All the staff were very pleasant. We noticed that Don had to politely disappoint several potential customers during our visit, as all tables were taken. This is not a large café so be sure to book in advance. Most of our fellow dinners were locals who knew each other. That's a good recommendation in itself.

We came in for lunch and to escape the rain, but when we left, it was warm of body and of soul. The people who run this cafe go above and beyond to make the visit pleasant. They want to get you seated in the best spot, have a friendly and encouraging attitude and great food to boot. The meals were delicious and portions very generous (by 'large' Yorkshire pudding, they meant large - it was plate sized). The two of us shared a pudding and they even served it to us cut in half in 2 separate bowls "to avoid squabbles" with an extra scoop of ice cream. You could have as many hot water refills and milk for a pot of tea as you liked. A pot of tea was only £1.60. The food was very reasonably priced as well, especially considering the portions. They were dog friendly and very helpful with filling up the dog bowl. It is sad that I don't live in Pately Bridge, as I would be here every weekend.
Once again this gem of a cafe didn't disappoint. Egg, chips and beans, Don knew what we were going to order before we even said it! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, they treat you like old friends and bend over backwards for you.
The food is freshly cooked and comes out piping hot, quality and quantity, no corners are cut here. If they run out of anything, they don't "make do" with cheap replacements, they just say they've run out. Numerous visits here now and the service and standard has never let us down. Highly recommend a visit to this little gem.
Old school values and fantastic food.
Fantastic food and a very extensive menu. The gentleman who took care of us was very friendly, polite and helpful. Lovely find in a lovely village!
The host was a gent and the sausage and bacon bap was top drawer!
Absolutely wonderful. A warm welcome, locally made art and jewelry and of course that Yorkshire pudding.. wow. Incredible. We ate well and we're very well looked after. Will be back!
Friendly service, like dining at home, home cooked food, the Yorkshire pudding menu is creative, something not seen elsewhere. The cherry scone is a nice surprise. Ham and cheese hot toastie melt in your mouth.
