We were greeted by the friendliest host and ushered to a table as soon as we walked in. My husband got the fish & chips (he got the “half size” and it was very filling!) and it was delicious. Place looked very clean and well maintained. We would definitely return!

Amazing! The food is fantastic and the service is even better. We were in town for 3 days on a photoshoot and eat Lunch and Dinner here.
The manager Andrew was a gracious host and was the main reason we kept coming back!
We also met the owner, "Mother". He's a master butcher! If we stayed one more day, I would have gotten the steak.
Thank you for making our visit to Scotland very memorable. For my friends visiting, please tell them Vanelli says hi!

Dog friendly restaurant in Penicuik, was a great find after a long walk with friends. They served breakfast until 4pm which is unheard of but very much appreciated! Good service and very clean. Will definitely be returning!

Great spacious place, food is amazing (the teriyaki spring rolls are divine), staff is more than lovely, high standard decor. Lots of choices of booze, wines, gins and cocktails.
They also have a back garden and special events.
Make sure to book during weekends, as it gets.

Had a great work Christmas night out here. The place was lovely, staff were so friendly. There was a live band also, the food was delish (especially the Beef Wellington) great drinks menu too. The owner Gordon was very welcoming & attentive. Really recommend this place!

Popped in for lunch today . Recommended by family. We were not disappointed . Lovely place. Food was delicious. Had steak open sandwich and partner had the fish n chips. He was impressed...crispy batter...he always say Scotland doesn't do crispy batter like the English lol. Well impressed. Will be back soon for dinner as he wants to try the sea bass. 5 stars.

We nipped up for lunch today and really enjoyed the open sandwiches and macaroni cheese, I especially appreciated the gluten free option. At the moment they are offering 50% off and this made it particularly good value. Great service, pleasant surroundings and a basic menu cooked well: a nice treat to break up working from home.
