Stopped for a drink en route during our travels up north and loved this pub. Picturesque location, friendly staff and friendly locals, toilets are clean, perfect for a quiet drink by the canal and a little stroll back and forth with the dog. Didn't eat so can't rate the food but what others had looked good!
Typical English pub w comfort food, no new age pub grub w hoisin sauce n wasabe dressing. Steak n kidney pie was yummy. Dessert sponge w treacle was excellent n trifle too.
Popped in for some food but unfortunately missed the last orders as we didn’t arrive till late. But still had a drink. Landlady was very welcoming and recommended other places to eat. Lovely pub. Would definitely return if we’re in the area again 👌 …
