A wonderful surprise for 2 Aussies passing through. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly and were happy to assist with any query. To the point where we needed a bit more milk for a 3rd cup of coffee in our room - the staff member insisted she bring it upstairs to our room even though we were heading up there ourselves. You may wait for your meals as they are cooked and prepared fresh in house and to order - so that may take a bit longer to be served. Sit back, relax and enjoy the small wait (cooking/time) over a drink. The meals are generous in size and wondeful rustic fare. The puddings are very popular and it was interesting to note they have a monthly 'Pudding Night'. This sells out well in advance so a testament in itself. The room we stayed in was spotless and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast certainly set us in good stead for the rest of our day. Again - cooked to order so a little time for delivery to your table. Enjoy a coffee/tea, juice and/or cereal while you wait. The croissants baked in house were perfection - served straight out of the oven and steaming (yes you're advised they'll take about 13 minutes). A convenient location to explore the area, close to some good walking trails or perfect for an overnight stay if passing through (as was our situation). Thank you to all. We hope to return one day.

Excellent place for a conference or other large meeting. The manager/staff are so helpful and do all they can to make your event a memorable experience. The buffet food is a bit pricey but it is very good and does top off an all round good experience.

Just off the motorway. Easy to find just on roadside. Lovely outside seating to front and side of property. Ample parking. Attended conference there and the room was bright and airy. Large area with high ceiling. The chairs not most comfortable for sitting in all day. Seating with arms might be more comfortable. Buffet lunch, tea, coffee and cold drinks were all excellent and staff welcoming and friendly. I must go back for a pub lunch sometime.

Sweet and cosy bedroom, clean and quiet atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and cheerful. DO NOT miss out the food from this inn, I had a lamb shank, a little dry on the outside but the inside was tender. The side mushy was delicious, although mushed but with slight chunk of definetly fresh pressed potatoes. Yummy.

Nice bright modern Inn but retains an old fashioned feel. Great menu, never had a bad meal. Staff friendly, prompt service and only minutes from the M6. Probably a hidden gem!!

Lovely location easy to rejoin M6 . Peaceful and comfortable rooms. Lovely menu's but would have liked to see some less extravagant choices. Could have really done with access to an iron.

We called in by chance on way home from a day in the Lakes. Food very nice and staff friendly and attentive. No cask ales but a good selection of local bottled beers. We will call in again.

Such great food, excellently presented, friendly and attentive staff (even though we probably weren't dressed for it). Would absolutely go here again.

Very nice staff, clean and spacious room. Great for average size function. We used the venue for a funeral tea.

Called in on a Saturday lunchtime and we were made very welcome. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I will look forward to returning there in the future.
