Delightful cafe overlooking the river which l last visited some years ago under a different name I think. It's dog friendly and there is paid parking next to it at the traffic lights. Interesting menu (although the specials clipboard wasn't offered to us on a Sunday lunch time). We didn't want a big meal so I opted for the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, which wasn't cheap. As the picture shows it was immense and very good value. My lady opted for the even more expensive open steak sandwich and this cost the missing star. The steak was really good and there was plenty of it. However the bread was very hard to cut and the onions were just overwhelming and dominated the very large two piece open sandwich. Half of it with less onion and easier to cut bread we would happily have paid two thirds of the price for. My lady is hard of hearing so maybe tone down the music? Will happily return so well worth a visit

Absolutely lovely place in a fantastic location right on the water. We went on the wrong night to make the most of the vegan options but we did okay with the vegan tapas and they were happy to adjust the garlic bread to make it vegan. I also had an insanely green cocktail called an Angry Pirate which we think should be renamed the Angry Parrot. The staff were great and we would definitely go again next time we're in Penryn.

Great location, especially when the tide is in. The breakfast options are delicious, especially the Cornish breakfast. Our server was amazing - very polite, welcoming and attentive. Definitely great to have a meal on the decking outside, with parasols meaning you can choose to be in the shade or lessen the risk of a light shower effecting your meal.

Penryn doesn't possess that many eating-out destinations but this one is surely the standout and a contender for the Falmouth area. We both plumped for the 2 for £20 fish on Friday offer and guzzled a jug of (very green) Angry Pirate cocktail. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked without being greasy, crispy batter and simply presented on a bed of the best chips I've had in years. Designed to scoop up sauce, the chips were like potato churros - now there's an idea. The only gripe? Not enough of the tasty minty peas and I prefer them mushier (for the chip scoopage and a 1 of my 5 a day). But couldn't fault anything else and the servers were lovely and the food was prepared with care. A real gem next to the estuary with balcony tables and a dog-friendly atmosphere.

By far my favourite breakfast during my visit to Cornwall! Had the Cornish breakfast and it was so delicious, all cooked fresh and not too long of a wait for food. Great views sitting outside and staff were friendly both times we visited! Top Work 🙏
