I never used to like steak till i ate steak here... wonderful ..and the chocolate mouse with salted caramel sauce is to die for... love the cheerful staff ...just a great place to eat for either a snack in the day or a special occasion in an evening.. There really are worth a visit
Fabulous cafe/bistro. Beautiful sunny setting and a lovely classy interior. I had posh fish finger sandwich and THE best rosemary & sea salt chips I've ever tasted. Will definitelybe a regular affordable luxury on a Saturday whilst I wait for my gymnastic daughter's to finish at Penryn.
Had a lovely, chilled Saturday late lunch, both the 'mini muddy' fish and chips and my partners olive and humus platter were stunning, normally we come in for the coffee...now definitely a fave for food too
Lovely lunch yesterday. I was recommended to have the Thai mussels over the French which were very tasty and came with an accompaniment of fresh bread and a small serving of chips. I finished with another recommendation of a homemade cinnamon bun which was also just as delicious. Have been here once before this and will definitely visit again. Friendly waiter and waitresses and good value for money also. Highly recommend Muddy Beach cafe! 😊
The best mussels ever eaten in the UK, hake from heaven and a cracking bottle of Chardonnay...and I never usually choose that, so thanks for the steer there! We will be back!
Niggley point but I didn't find the chairs as comfortable as I would have liked. However the service and food was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Fresh, tasty and delicious - reasonably priced, great views, friendly staff, will be back and recommend to all.
A firm favourite! Amazing service, food, drinks and the staff are wonderful, plus Muddy has the best cinnamon buns I've ever tasted in my life! Thank you :)
Best burger I've even eaten out. Med rare, juicy and perfectly seasoned... friendly, attentive staff in a lovely relaxed surrounding. Do yourself a favour and drop in ext time you are in the area!
One of the most amazing cafe views in cornwall - rain or shine the view up the river and out to sea is inspiring.
Coastal themed interior and delicious locally sourced food. Nothing is too much trouble. A delight for families and friend gatherings. Special deals for students too !!
Outstanding coffee , excellent service, friendly staff, superb wine list , epic breakfasts and all in an ideal setting. So lucky to have this in penryn.
Had a really enjoyable lunch there with a large group of friends .
Excellent service & a great atmosphere . Staff welcoming & friendly , food fab !!
Felt very relaxed there . Would def recommend
Ordered a lemon drizzle cake to take away - truly delicious - thanks to the great chef and wonderful staff
Absolutely gorgeous location! Just BEAUTIFUL cafe💕 To start, my fish wasn't right, the staff was pleasant to speak with, apologetic and changed my meal straight away (no questions asked) and bought me a drink to apologise, my Mediterranean salad was excellent! Lovely staff attentive but not in ur face. I would definitely come here again :) Cheers guys 😁💜 Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Penryn doesn't possess that many eating-out destinations but this one is surely the standout and a contender for the Falmouth area. We both plumped for the 2 for £20 fish on Friday offer and guzzled a jug of (very green) Angry Pirate cocktail. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked without being greasy, crispy batter and simply presented on a bed of the best chips I've had in years. Designed to scoop up sauce, the chips were like potato churros - now there's an idea. The only gripe? Not enough of the tasty minty peas and I prefer them mushier (for the chip scoopage and a 1 of my 5 a day). But couldn't fault anything else and the servers were lovely and the food was prepared with care.
A real gem next to the estuary with balcony tables and a dog-friendly atmosphere.
Amazing place with mouth watering food, a dog bufet, great 2 for 12 drinks offer and very kind and funny stuff. Thank you for a great time, cannot recommend enough - thank you for having us!
Barcelona squad :)
Delightful cafe overlooking the river which l last visited some years ago under a different name I think.
It's dog friendly and there is paid parking next to it at the traffic lights.
Interesting menu (although the specials clipboard wasn't offered to us on a Sunday lunch time).
We didn't want a big meal so I opted for the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, which wasn't cheap. As the picture shows it was immense and very good value.
My lady opted for the even more expensive open steak sandwich and this cost the missing star.
The steak was really good and there was plenty of it. However the bread was very hard to cut and the onions were just overwhelming and dominated the very large two piece open sandwich.
Half of it with less onion and easier to cut bread we would happily have paid two thirds of the price for.
My lady is hard of hearing so maybe tone down the music?
Will happily return so well worth a visit
Very relaxed, good service and food very tasty, reasonable price
Encouraged to visit here by a family member. Seated quickly. All the menu choices were explained. Had coffees and lunch. Fish and chips and macaroni cheese with bacon. Both were delicious. Asked for a take home box for theeft over mac n cheese which they were happy to do. Lovely view of the estuary and boats. Will definitely be back.
Paella! First of each month, not to be missed. Great atmosphere with the flamenco music. Fresh shells from falmouth bay, lovely.
Our go to place for breakfast when in West Cornwall. Fabulous venue and terrace with a fabulous view. Food and service is 10/10, Doggos also made very welcome.
Great place, had a fantastic breakfast, great veggie options. Friendly welcoming service, wheelchair accessible. Lovely views of the water. Highly recommended
Great food, big portions and super friendly staff, come eat here!
Absolutely lovely place in a fantastic location right on the water. We went on the wrong night to make the most of the vegan options but we did okay with the vegan tapas and they were happy to adjust the garlic bread to make it vegan. I also had an insanely green cocktail called an Angry Pirate which we think should be renamed the Angry Parrot. The staff were great and we would definitely go again next time we're in Penryn.
Great location, especially when the tide is in. The breakfast options are delicious, especially the Cornish breakfast. Our server was amazing - very polite, welcoming and attentive. Definitely great to have a meal on the decking outside, with parasols meaning you can choose to be in the shade or lessen the risk of a light shower effecting your meal.
By far my favourite breakfast during my visit to Cornwall! Had the Cornish breakfast and it was so delicious, all cooked fresh and not too long of a wait for food. Great views sitting outside and staff were friendly both times we visited! Top Work 🙏
Lovely breakfast with lots of room. This place was very busy on the harbour side. The server said there would be a 20 minute wait for drinks. Which was fine because we were told before ordering. We waited only 5 minutes. Food was delicious and not a compulsory vegan vegetarian cafe like other local cafes near by. Coffee was delicious and looked Devine. Highly recommend
We love this place. Right on our doorstep. The breakfasts are amazing, fill you right up. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Always our first choice and if you can sit outside the view is fabulous, you'll never want to leave. Excellent.
