Friendly staff, cheap drinks and cozy atmosphere. The staff kindly took our luggage although they don't advertise this service (saved us carrying heavy bags all afternoon, thanks!)

Always go to this pub when we are in Penzance. Mainly because the landlord (or manager) is so good. Rare these days to see someone so skilled at the job of publican. Food is good too, fish and chips were excellent.

My husband and I ate here last week and it did not disappoint! The food was very quick service and tasted absolutely lovely. It was very busy and as far as I could tell fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us and our dog in. I had peach rattler which was extraordinary and a cocktail of the month which was a coconut margarita with was fantastic. We shared a seafood platter and it was absolutely huge and very tasty. I would definitely visit here again! A really unique idea was trivial pursuit cards on the tables, everyone around us (including us) played while we waited for our food to arrive. It was really enjoyable.

What's not to like about this pub?
May be the closest you will ever get to a transport hub without being in it. So close to the ferry you could fling your case to the loading bey.
Smart, spacious and comfortable rooms, all well equipped. The food is excellent too with welcoming staff.

The dolphin is a holiday favourite and we always visit on our last night as a special treat.
Unfortunately the service was very poor on Friday,We were left for long periods and had to go to bar to order more drinks. We also decided against desserts due to a long wait. A family on the table next to ours was heavily swearing which was nice as we had two children with us (Not your fault I know) Food was lovely as always although though starter choices were limited. A shame the wait has marred our visit, perhaps we need to try else where?

Our second year running staying overnight, before sailing to the Isles of Scilly the next day. The rooms are bright and airy and the towels and bed linen are super soft. Breakfast is a hearty meal and all staff are friendly and welcoming. The tavern is perfectly located for a stay in Penzance and I'd be reluctant to stay anywhere else but here. 😊

Had lunch with hubby on a monday lunchtime food was fab we had beef sizzle and Madras curry, hubby makes awsome curries ( taught by the best ) and approved.
Cant wait to go back , staff young but so attentive and friendly . Loved it .
A couple of local ( st. Ives) foodies are now fans.

Although it seemed to be super busy for a Monday afternoon the staff was superb and super friendly. The pub is so clean and every table is cleaned with a wet cloth after each sitting.
The fish and chips were a delight. So fresh and the portion was huge!
Overall a fantastic experience. I was so hungry and had little time to spare but my order arrived fresh and fast 😍🫶
The pub is also super cute with all the little details but it did not look like clutter. Instead it was a complimentary decor.

Didn't stay here, just ate after being sent there from the Yacht Inn as their kitchen closes early! Nice atmosphere. Had to queue for a table. Good food. That's not chips on my plate, it's a whole shoal of whitebait!

I would have to say that, given how busy this place was during our visit in late June 2023, that reservations are recommended for evening meals and especially on weekends. We ordered the "sizzler" plates for two evenings running, and were not disappointed. You can see that my "sizzler" boat capsized a bit, but didn't disturb the taste one bit. These dishes "sizzled" by us to other tables at a steady trot, so they seem to be a local favorite. In short a wonderful place with wonderful staff and wonderful food.

Love to pop in on our annual vacations. Fantastic food. Took friends this year and they were amazed at the generous portions and quality of their meals can absolutely recommen the Dolphin as a great place to eat

We had a lovely evening meal here last year during our holiday in Penzance and decided to visit again this year. The food was lovely and well presented. The staff were friendly and the service was good. We had a lovely evening and will hopefully be back next year!

Absolutely amazing service, quick and kind staff. Had a Rattler cider and my mates had garlic bread. Food came surprisingly quick and was very tasty. If you’re in Penzance this is the pub to go. It is also well priced and amazing cute decor.

Very nice local pub. Came here while on holiday for dinner. The service from the staff was good and our server was very polite. Food was very nice and was a good price. There was radio playing in the background which gave a good environment. Everyone looked like they were having a good time. I would recommended the food here. However, only gave 4 stars as when arriving a few minutes before our booked table time, our table was not ready and we needed to wait for around 15 minutes for it to be ready. But overall a nice pub which served good food.
