The staff are really friendly. The food was served promptly and piping hot.
I'd highly recommend starting with a sharing starter as the portions are large.
We were the only diners in the dining room and I would be intrigued to visit the restaurant when it has an atmosphere to enjoy.
Of all the meals out my party ate during out short break in Pickering, this was by far the best value for money.

Food was fantastic, not the biggest menu but definitely big enough and something for everyone, really well cooked, some unique items and really really large portions! Would advise sharing a starter as I couldn't finish my main!

If you’re staying in the area you MUST eat here. OMG the portion sizes are immense, we were foolish and ordered sides with our ‘tray’ meal (plates wouldn’t hold all the food) needless to say not many were eaten.
We ordered the salt and pepper tray, the American combo and the ribs from the grill section, garlic mushrooms which were not breaded and fried as you’d normally get but in a creamy sauce with 2 bread rolls and salad, garlic bread and onion rings.
We should’ve taken photos but we were so amazed by the sizes that we just made a start as we knew we were in for a long haul.

Food was lovely, prices were good. Food arrived quickly and it all came together. My meal was delicious and there was plenty. The staff were friendly and polite. The only downside was there was no choice in wine unless you bought a bottle.

I had been to another restaurant to be told despite there website thdo not do food on a Thursday night so came across Spencers and what a gem thstaff as soon as we walked in the door could not been happier or friendlier we got to our table ordered our food and drinks. When the food arrived it looked great and a very good portion size as was the desert I can not thank the staff enough for turning the night around prices where great too

Fantastic bar and grill just hidden off Malton Road opposite black bull. Spencer’s has a great outdoor play area amazing food fantastic atmosphere staff are so friendly and the prices are amazing too! And the bar is dog friendly! Lodges down there to make a holiday of it all in all a great venue for a meal a stay a drink anything! If you’re visiting Pickering you have to visit!

Dined here 2 nights (6th and 7th May 2023). Absolutely delicious food. VERY generous portions and well worth the price you pay. The portions are massive, so either be a competitive eater or order less than you expect as you will be happily full before the plate is empty.
Staff working here are an absolute delight too. Very pleasant and welcoming.
Very nice atmosphere too and very picturesque surroundings.
