My friends and I visited this pub for a cheap and cheerful meal. Despite being understaffed the service was great. Stuart was kind, attentive and good fun. There was a good range of drinks both soft and alcoholic. Lots of the food was available gluten free which is what we needed. Portion sizes were perfect with lots of gravy and extra veg. It took a while to get to us but we were happy playing pool in the back room, staff offered us board games and the building has so much character. Dogs are welcome and the scenery/walks surrounding areas stunning. Good wholesome pub with no nonsense grub.

Didn't stay here but came here nightly for drinks and a few games of pool. Stunning views outside, good ale on the bar. Massive thanks to Liam for being an excellent host all week and kept the beer flowing.

I stayed with my brother November 2023, for a short two day break, staff are friendly yet professional, food was good, rooms were brilliant, felt more like a 3/4 star rather than 2 star, I will definitely be coming back!!!

This pub/hotel is under new management (Oct 2023) and has had a very sympathetic refurbishment, making it clean and welcoming, whilst retaining an old fashioned pub feel. The new landlord is full of enthusiasm and is clearly determined to ensure all guests have an enjoyable experience. The cask ale is worthy of particular mention. It's obvious that great care is taken to ensure it is provided to the highest standard possible. The friendly and efficient staff also deserve a mention. This a place I will be visiting again. Highly recommended.
