What a beautiful venue, sitting at the side of the River Orwell watching all the yachts pass by. Food was great and nicely presented and they serve really good ale. Can recommend.

Popular pub at the end of a lane, alongside a busy boatyard. Nice place to sit outside and take in the views, but equally interesting inside. Good selection of beers, friendly staff and locals.

A lovely pub with alot of history in a quiet area overlooking the river Orwell.
The staff were very friendly and the pub had a warm and welcoming feel to the place.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Local shipwrecks close by that you can look at when the tide is out.
Cannot wait to re visit in the near future

Wonderful setting right beside the river Orwell. Cheap car park just up the hill from the pub if you can't get parked there. Does get busy. Good choice of ales but PRICEY. Also don't forget that this is a good working boatyard so be prepared to expect association noise at times. Great outdoor space. Indoors has plenty of character with great views. Some lovely walking trails, great for dogs too.

Beautiful view of the river Orwell. The staff were so lovely and attentive. The food was delicious. The only thing that bothered us was where we were sat the table and chairs were all so close to other tables it felt as if we were sat with the people next to us .Also meant the people on the table behind us could not leave there table without me having to get up and move every time .Apart from the we very much enjoyed our visit .

Fantastic old pub with wonderful riverside views. Delightfully restful. Great food. Pay attention to the specials on the board (take a pic on your phone if you aren’t sitting near the blackboard), they really are special.

Love this place ❤️ it has hands down the best views in Ipswich, and the food is always amazing. Try an Adnams Wild Wave on tap its sublime. There is also a lovely walk from here to Wolverstone Marina which takes about an hour there and back. Always book ahead as there are never tables available on the weekend.
