Was running an errand to find on today and the way home I came across this place for something to eat. The place is amazing. The staff were friendly, the pub was welcoming. And some of the the stuff they have in there is fascinating. Well recommend. If you’re near there you must pop in. Top place.

Great place to eat and let the kids run around! Only slight criticism would be the lack of staff .... the poor chap was working on his own running back and forth “ knocking up about 30000 steps” but certainly doesn’t discount the rating , lovely place and will return soon!

Been promising ourselves a visit for far too long. Finally did so and not disappointed by the lunchtime visit. The gardens are great with a vine canopy if you wish some shade. The food was good and plentiful. Options for gluten free are also available. Worth a visit!!

Country pub, big beer garden. Local beer on cask. Really good food menu from sandwiches and snacks to full on roast. Homemade puddings on the menu too. Dog friendly inside and out. Great customer service. Clean and well kept. Enjoyed our food outside in the winter sun and staff made us feel really welcome. Try the homemade cheese cake it's really good.

Great quirky and cosy pub. Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely and warm fire. They have a dog and a bird in there too which is always entertaining and adds to the character of a pub! Food was great and good drink selection and prices. Will definitely be back, wish it was walking distance to my house!!!

Really nice pub. Went for a drink and some food on a Friday evening: Landlady was super friendly and welcoming, pub has a relaxed atmosphere, and the food was good. We’ll visit again when the weather gets a bit warmer. Maybe just slightly leas raw onion to garnish the food and salads- not everyone loves them and they can detract from the taste. But otherwise excellent!

My other half and I came here for a Valentines Date. We have been driving past this pub for 2 years saying we really should go here and I have to say we weren't disappointed. Atmosphere- The first thing is the decor, it has a very warm and homey atmosphere. It does have a very unique vibe. I checked for dust in various locations and beyond an absolutely normal level, I was hard pressed to find anything substantial. This pub (FOH) certainly appears cleaned well. Another aspect I liked was the ability for people to bring their dogs in. I love a Pub/Free House that is welcoming to our four legged friends. I know some people get very annoyed by this but I don't so it added to the general mood having them calmly go around. The food- I had no issue with anything served. I had the Prawns starter and the Bacon and Cheese Burger (Yes, not very creative choices haha) The Prawns and the Salad served with it tasted fresh and not frozen which is a big sin a lot of places commit. The Burger had very nice Beef and wasn't too greasy which too often is the case at other establishments. The Staff- We felt welcomed and there was an attentiveness to our needs. We came in and got welcomed, once seated we ordered our food and even after serving they would frequently check if everything was okay and check up on us. Going back to my comparison a lot of other places will seat you and as soon as you get your food they will forget about you and prioritise new customers coming in. It made it feel like even after they had our money they still cared that we enjoyed the food and made sure we didn't need anything else. To the staff both FOH and Kitchen thank you for enabling a nice evening. We enjoyed our visit and will return in the future.

Great service very friendly staff. Only a bit of advice to the for the owners to increase the standards, I had Vegetarian burger and chip it would be nice to have a little bit of side salad and an optional to add sauce or Cheese to it, even if it was For an extra cost of say .50p to £1 or something like that (choice of sauce and choices of cheese type) to go inside the burger bun. Also scrap how you do your sauces to offer pots of sauces instead sasha sauce. The idea I would do is sauce menu standard sauces in pots, then specialized sauce at a charge or high charge or something like that. Grave to put on chips, ketchup, mayo as strand then specialized version of these. The desert looked great but the banna sticky toffee pudding was a little cool in places other than that tasted really good.

Visited 14 Dec 22 as we were passing and wanted lunch. Very friendly and helpful chap called Connor behind the bar. He seemed to be working the bar on his own. He showed us to a table straight away - we were given options of where we could sit. We were also given menus, including festive one and told about exceptions and specials, etc.. We ordered drinks, and I had the plum porter from a local brewery - Kissingate. It was divine. We ordered the turkey dinner, and this was served to us pretty quickly. It was all served inside a large Yorkshire pudding, and the portion was very generous. We also had a dessert, which was also served quickly. It was nice and tasty, and the veg were not cooked to a mush, which was nice. The atmosphere was nice, there was a nice open fire and the place was nicely decorated for Christmas. Pretty good value, too, with 2 2-course Christmas meals and drinks coming in at just over £50. From our experience, we will visit again and recommend this place to others.
