We driven past many times was always busy, but there is a for sale sign up, which they told us was sadly putting customers off. Hopefully the new owner will put in facilities for people with mobility problems. You don't realise until you need them they are missing. The staff all looked after us well.
Had the nicest roast dinner I've had in a restaurant for years. The beef was cooked perfectly and the portions were good. The waitress/ barmaid made us feel very welcome and was really friendly. Will definitely be going back - loved it.
Delicious meal and plenty of it (I had nachos with chilli etc).
Particularly good cider.
Love the pub garden.
Shame they stopped serving drinks early, at 21:30, there were 18 in our group! Then again it was only Wednesday.
Stopped here today for lunch, was surprised how nice it was inside. Nicely decorated, and lovely and cosy. Toilet was spotlessly clean. The food came extremely quickly, we had the vegetarian halloumi burger and the pulled pork burger. Food came extremely quickly, and was so tasty. Skin on fries were yummy. Lovely beer garden and large play area out the back for children to play. We sat in the beer garden to eat and were surprised how praceful it was, couldnt really hear the road noise. Lovely pub, lovely food, friendly smiley staff. Cant fault it.
Beautiful place, very characteristic inside. The service was great and with a smile. Food good but avarage. They also have a nice garden outside.
I had the gluten free Korean chicken burger and the gluten free sticky toffee pudding. Both very nice and had a few options for me to choose from. The service was very good and it was a nice atmosphere.
Great pub stopped here for lunch before heading into Eastbourne. Great menu with plenty of variety. Very quiet but it was just lunch time.
A lovely pub serving good Harvey's. Good normal pub food, friendly atmosphere and lovely setting with a view of the South Downs. More tartar sauce needed on the fish-finger sandwich, though...
Great food and friendly staff. Lots of outdoor seating and a great kids play area with swings, a fort, monkey bars etc. Decent selection of roasts, including DF/ VG options, burgers, pasta and a separate kids menu. Nice selection of desserts - again with 2 DF and VG options. Even though the Barley Mow is on the 'main road', can honestly say that we didn't hear the road at all, as you're sat behind the pub. Plenty of parking.
Friendly and helpful staff were welcoming and efficient. Food was hot and very tasty. We'll be back another time.
