Henry Viii's Bar & Brasserie

I reluctantly eat out now due to a Rapeseed oil allergy, tonight 20/10/2023 my wife and I had a meal in the restaurant, I’m always nervous when going to a new venue. We called first before booking and was reassured rapeseed wasn’t used. Still nervous, we checked with the staff who doubled checked with the chef and confirmed nothing was cooked in the dreaded oil. This may sound trivial to some people but when it causes an anaphylactic shock and my airways swell it a big deal for me to find what I call (safe houses). I was soon reassured and settled down to a wonderful meal with fantastic service. I cannot thank you enough for your polite reassuring service and we will be back soon. Thank you again.

Had a lovely meal here. A little more expensive but its true that you get what you pay for. Had a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, and the green vegetable on my plate was actually broccoli and not mushy peas like some places around I COULD mention. Lovely atmosphere and very helpful friendly staff. Definitely love this place😁

As someone who has a gluten and dairy free diet due to intolerance eating out has become harder due to justifying my choices. I asked what options on the lunch menu were available and was told I could have anything!! I had gluten free scampi which was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh! For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with dairy free ice-cream also delicious and very filling! Overall a wonderful meal! Service was polite, friendly and efficient.

We went to the Henry VIII for a special family celebration, which is an annexe to the King's Croft Hotel & Restaurant. The service was impeccable & extremely professional. And the food was absolutely excellent. Well cooked & very well presented! The steak was "one of the best steaks ever" and came with HUGE crispy onion rings. I had duck breast which was really tender and delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. And the desserts were all delicious. Every plate was clear! We will all definitely be going back. It was a really perfect evening for a family celebration. Thankyou very much x
