Family run business with friendly hosts, homemade food cooked from scratch, never had a bad meal there.
A great spot very quiet and relaxing. Barbara was very helpful and booked our breakfast, the breakfast was lovely well presented and plentiful. Great coffee. Ample parking and great views of the countryside and fishing lakes.
An unpretentious place but good fir a few nights. The rooms have everything needed and our bed was very comfortable.
The only downside is the nearby roads, which are narrow.

I shared a room with my lovely partner, who booked us in for a surprise valentines/anniversary getaway and it was truly wonderful staying at The countryman.
From the minute we opened the door, there was a beautiful presentation of roses🌹 and champagne 🥂. The room itself is gorgeous and beyond comfortable.
There was everything you could want, plus, the lush countryside was literally outside our door.
We woke to the sound of nothing but birdsong and I felt all my stresses just melt away.
The location made it feel like we were truly hidden away, yet there is a town centre not too far away, for delicious take outs, restaurants and other amenities such as supermarkets etc.
We didn't order breakfast but the owner was so nice that I have zero doubts that it will be as great as everything else. Thank you for having us and I've already started planning our return visit 😉 🤗
Absolutely loved our stay here. The service was A1.. lovely room with a comfy bed.. hot shower and an amazing breakfast, not to mention the peaceful location, but not too far from some nightlife if you so please 😀 highly recommend.
Lovely place with beautiful surroundings, you can see that new managment is trying to bring the life to this place. Great outdoor space. We had our lunch on the tarrace, kids played in the park whilst we had our coffees, we also fed the fish in the pond and kids loved the experience.
We had a lovely night's stay, will visit again. Smashing room.
Nice friendly people, quiet countryside location in lovely scenery. Watched a kingfisher catch its breakfast this morning in one of the carp ponds. Ideal too if you're a carp angler.
Great stay not far outside Cardiff after a gig at the principality stadium. £8 breakfast decent fry up & coffee. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Late check-in was a pro with a key safe! Thank you v much

Quiet, almost out of time place. The pond by the restaurant is full of fish, just throw them some crumbs from your juicy tasty big burger and they will get both wild and funny. The room is neat and... elevated.
