Never really thought that much of it here but now it’s changed it’s my new favourite place with amazing food and a good atmosphere. I look forward to seeing the new refurbishment

We had a wonderful time visiting Penn Central! They were so accommodating towards our doggy diner, providing a water bowl upon arrival and an espresso cup filled with doggy treats!
The service was fantastic and the food was delicious!

Quiet Monday lunch. Ambient music suited the mood and very friendly and attentive staff.
Ordered the Tempura Sea Bass (two words ;p) @£15.95 and the accompanying homemade Tartar sauce and pea purée were the stars of the show. Batter was slightly under-seasoned for me but was very light and crispy. Fish obviously fresh and confirmed fresh with owner.
Two beers later and c£25 for freshly made, well-cooked and fresh produce is easily worth it.
Great work new owners and kitchen.

Looks good.. just had a drink... apparently closing for a refit .. but looks great tbh.. was quiet but staff nice and decent atmosphere..Will be back

I always enjoy visiting Penn central they have recently refurbed it and it looks so much better! They have a small out space that gets the last bit of evening sun so perfect for an evening drink after work. . Penn central always has a good atmosphere and the bar staff are always helpful and friendly . They had live music there last Saturday and it had the whole pub singing along to Queen. They are sticking to the new covid rules very well. So unfortunately no dancing but lots of dancing in your seats.

Went for beer and a burger and it was so tasty. A simple burger with cheese no fancy fluffy stuff just simple with friends. Quite a homely feeling. All staff were so polite. The place itself was social distant so we felt in a safe environment. Definitely worth a visit.

On Sunday the 25th Oct we visited Penn central for a Sunday roast .We were recommended by a friend and we always follow up on recommendations.
I must say that this was the best recommendation I have ever had regarding a Sunday roast which is high on our list.we had beef ,turkey and pork ,and plenty of it .the meat was in abundance and cooked beautifully,
The beef was medium rare and melted in your mouth along with the moist turkey and pork.the vegetables were really fresh with plenty of choice along with Yorkshire puddings ,a rich gravy and condiments.
Without a shadow of a doubt this is the best roast lunch I have ever had.In Addition the surroundings are very modern and stylish.And the staff were more than helpful to all of our needs.
I was told that they are opening the upstairs restaurant on Halloween 31st Oct with full a la carte
Menu After a refurbishment .I was also informed that this is a fish and seafood restaurant amongst other items .We will visit again anyway if only for the roast.

Ben manners is an exceptional chef and cooks the most amazing sunday roasts. He has now started to do takeaway roast meals which are fantastic. Just give them a call, let them know what time, and go and pick it up. Awesome.
