We were visiting from Chicago and came for a birthday lunch. We had one afternoon in Port Isaac, and this meal made for a perfect day. Everything about it was relaxed and delicious. The servers were so helpful and friendly and accommodated my gluten-free diet with no fuss at all. The view of the sea is stunning. I can't praise it enough and would come back in a heartbeat!
An unforgettable seafood culinary experience. My fiance and I dined here for dinner only two days after eating at Outlaw's other Michelin restaurant in Port Isaac (also amazing!) so had a very high bar to surpass. The staff were outstanding from our welcome to the attentive service and knowledge of the dishes. We were also given complimentary champagne as we were celebrating our engagement - a really nice touch. The restaurant has amazing views over the coast so id recommend sitting upstairs and booking an earlier reservation to get a choice of table. The seafood tasting menu was sublime, a true appreciation of quality, locally sourced produce which was completely different to the Fish Kitchen set menu (which was one of our concerns having only dined there a few days earlier!). Special shout outs to the baked brill and grilled turbot dishes - absolutely divine. If you are serious about great seafood then you cannot pass up an opportunity to eat here! 6*s if i could.
We had an amazing view of the coast and an entire room to ourselves, we could even peak into the kitchen and saw Nathan Outlaw himself. The food was amazing, I highly recommend the raw & cured starter and the dover sole.
Perfectly prepared, inventive dishes with great cocktails and an excellent wine list. Superb staff all around. What a great night.
A beautiful restaurant with sea views just outside picturesque Port Isaac.
The staff were very engaging, not stuffy at all (thank God) and also helpful with directions, I get lost, alot!
I was presented with a complimentary dish of fresh pate with bread, I forget which fish but it was delicious.
I washed this down with a very refreshing apple and ginger non-alcoholic drink.
I wasn't too hungry as my hotel's breakfast was huge, therefore I opted for the lobster risotto starter as my main.
The presentation was beautiful. The texture and cooking of the lobster was perfect. The
taste, amazing. I could easily taste the freshness of the lobster and all the fresh ingredients. The risotto was also cooked beautifully.
I would definitely return for more.
Had the taster menu recently. These are my honest thoughts! Firstly, we absolutely loved the whole experience, are very glad we did it, and would recommend it to those that can afford such luxury eating. The welcome, organisation, friendliness & general 'niceness' of the staff is top drawer, making the whole experience really enjoyable. The menu is really exciting, and every course is delicious. We found the amount of food just about perfect over the whole evening, it took about 3 hours which flew by. My only real slight issue with the evening, is that everything is over-priced to a certain degree. Of course, price & value is a very personal thing, we're all different, but while we both loved the evening & have no regret about it at all, being honest - we have had better value for money, and equally good food, at other similar style taster menu meals. So for us, this was a once in a lifetime experience, which I would recommend others to try, if they can afford it.
Wow. Wow. The views of tintagel. The ESP of staff to greet you outside as you arrive. The menu prepared daily with each fisherman or boat named that caught your catch today. The personalised wine pairing. None of this is as good as the mackerel we ate, the lobster risotto with orange and basil... Or the best main I have had for years... Turbot with mint and hollandaise. Wonderful! The service is intimate and informal and the people who work there are clearly in love with their craft.
Unbelievably good fish-based tasting menu. Get a window seat if you can - the view over the sea is fantastic. The highlight for me was the sea bass with ricotta dumplings. Never something you'd think to put together and like experiencing an entirely new flavour profile. The chocolate pudding was mind-blowingly good.
Delicious food in a beautiful and relaxed setting.
The restaurant has lovely views over the water , and it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was wonderfully presented , and was so fresh and tasty. The wine list had some excellent local
and unusual options. It was well worth the visit.
The stunning menu did not disappoint my tastebuds. The four course tasting menu was thoughtful, well prepared and focusing on the seafood, remained simple. Each one of the four of us had a different favourite dish, all enjoying the taste sensation. The wine pairings were, without exception, simply fabulous.
We sat with a view to the kitchen, so enjoyed watching the thought and precision that goes into presenting the dishes. Well done to all. Enjoyed the smart service from Ian and Steffi too.
Highly recommended
